Death penalty for the 4 Indian rapists

Sure most of you remember this story breaking...anyways the 4 men received the death penalty.  Personally I wouldn't normally agree with the death penalty for rape, but, in this case I think it's almost necessary.  India has a huge problem and maybe this will move to really bring some change.

I thought only terrorists got the death penalty there?

Murderers also get the death penalty there. This is the first time rapists are getting the death penalty there, but only because the brutality of the attack directly led to the victim's death.

While I'm normally against the death penalty as well as the practice of wishing all sorts of horrible and cruel fates upon violent criminals, this conviction (especially that of the juvie) is a lesser punishment than what they deserve.

India gets a lot of attention for rape, though on a per capita basis it's actually lower than other developed Western nations, it just seems bigger because of the large population, for instance in the United States, with 1/4 the population, we manage over 4 times the number of rapes per year. The UK with just 1/20th the population has like 3/4 the number of rapes that India has. South Africa on the other hand, with less than 1/20th the population, is like 16 times greater the number of rapes than India has each year. Yet it seems that India gets the stigma of rape, my guess is because of the foreign tourists that brought the issue to Western media attention. That's not to say it's not a problem, but with attention to the issue of rape around the world India gets a pretty bad rap. Don't be stupid. Let's start with the fact he's claiming a horrific crime is only important to people if offender isn't white...which shows that he literally views things in a racially polarize way. That statement also shows he is generalizing people (and be honest, he's generalizing white people).

I mean...this thread has absolutely nothing to do with white people at all yet he makes such a stupid comment? We all know what his intentions are.

But really it's more a reflection of a lot of of his other posts as well, which he has in the past literally said racist things about white people.
