I mean, the guy with the most water in the middle of the desert is "rich", isn't he? Stacks of money won't do you much good there.... Is "rich" a number? What number? A million dollars gets you a pretty nice house in rural Angola, not so nice in downtown Tokyo. Some people would say having the love and friendship of family and friends makes you "rich", but try paying your credit card bill with a certificate for one free hug and see how far that gets you. Maybe "rich" is what we call people with more than what we have and we don't like it? What do you think?

I would personally consider myself rich when I had enough money to live my life to my standards comfortably, have the love of and admiration of my family, and physical health.

The technical definition of rich is wealthy, someone who can live in luxury with a good financial situation. The explanations you gave aren't the technical definition of rich.

I think there is. There is a general definition but of course rich can mean different things in different circumstances.

Basically, rich is someone with more than they need or just enough to live or go about business very comfortably or lavishly.

There was an old story i heard once, "a man and his wife are sitting in their house when they hear a knock at the door the man gets up and answers it at the door stands 3 men they tell him who they are. One is love and health the other is money and the other is admiration, they tell the man that he may invite only one of them in and would have to choose what he wants in his life. he thinks about it and decides to invite in love and health. He walks in and the other 2 men follow him. the man is confused and says I thought i could only invite one of you in. Money and admiration reply by saying where love and health goes we follow." I like that story, i feel if you have people supporting you who care about you and you have your health then you can have the strenght to do anything you want and be "rich".

Rich imo is having a lot of something that is wanted. Could be anything, like you said; water, money, whatever.

You're 'rich' when You have a dream, and are making it real.
Satisfaction.
Or walking through the fields without anyone watching You.
Freedom.
Or finding the truth.
Honesty.
Or seeing all the things You got.
Gratitude.
Or finding infinity in a grain of sand.
Creativity.
Doing something because it is You.
Passion.
And having done something that You are happy with.
Pride.
Recognizing the good in things.
Admiration.
It's about having a future.
Hope.
And making people ok again.
Love.
There are many more things that make You rich.

But it all depends on what You value most.
It basically comes down, to fullfilment.

And i am one of the richest people on earth.

Things increase in cost due to high demand and lack of supply so logically if you have anything which a lotof people want but few people have you are rich.

Class and wealth are different things. Class is about what you do, the lower class do the work, the middle class tell the lower what to do and how to do it and the upper are the owners and pretty much just take the profits. however here in the UK a plumber can easily earn 100k a year, much more than the majority of middle managers such as store managers.

Even in a socialist nation like ours where all of us are meant to be equal, there will always be people rich in love... Poor in love...rich in gifts... poor in gifts, a friendship... can make you rich and there will always be something to envy from your neighbor

plumbers can make the skrilla in the US too. Their essentially small business owners. It depends on how much work they can get for themselves.

i would call 100k "well off" around here. "around here" is alabama so things don't cost as much (so we get more for our dollar).

the problem is when you get more money standards tend to go up... look at divorce cases where people who married wealthy people say they need $10K a week in alimony / child support to live a proper lifestyle..
