it depends on what you need it for and how you will be using it.
I use a desktop almost exclusively but I know that some people use laptops most of the time and others use both.
when I go somewhere I do not often have the time for the internet or games so I just wait for my return or use the PC that is in the lobby if i have a spare minute
I think they both have their merits. Desktop is obviously more affordable and powerful, but laptops have ease of use and portability. It all depends on what you need in a computer.
I've always used Desktops until 3 months ago, and I'm completely in love with my laptop. It's so much more convenient for me than having a desktop.
