I've watched 8 episodes of the first season of Lost and found it to be incredibly boring.

Same here. Somehow I muscled my way into the second season of DVD's, but couldn't get any further.

Lost has never interested me, so I've only seen a little bit of it, and I haven't yet gotten the chance to watch any of Dexter, though I do plan to eventually. I guess I can't really comment on either of those shows. Some of my favorites are Star Trek (TOS), Seinfeld, Arrested Development, and The Sopranos. I haven't finished it yet, but I have a feeling that Six Feet Under is going to make its way to the top of my list once I do finish it...which should be in a week or so. :D

Lost is mediocre at best. And while great, Dexter fails in comparison to Six Feet Under.

6 feet under is better than both but Dexter is better than Lost. Best TV shows I recently watch(ed) are. 1. Six Feet Under 2. Deadwood (if it didn't end so lamely) 3. The Wire 4. Dexter 5. Madmen 6. True Blood 7. Breaking Bad 8. Modern Family 9. Hung 10. Weeds

True Blood is guilty fun for me, but I've still gotta admit that the show is mostly a big ol' pile of trash. I like it, but I'd have a very hard time calling it "good".

Seriously I wish I got those channels, and trust me when I say if I was old enough i'd buy them myself. So many shows with good plots and rave reviews (plus no censors). I mean Dexter, The Soparnos, Curb Your Enthusiasm (loved watching that show, and now I can on TV guide network though it's censored), True Blood, Hung, Eastbound & Down, Real Sports with Bryant Gumble, Entourage, Deadwood, The Wire. I mean so many amazing sounding and review getting TV shows that i'd totally watch if I could.

No. No it's not. Dexter can't be the "best show" when it has some really bad writing and acting. Some of the writing feels very forced, the most obvious being Debbie and Vince's lines. And oh God don't get me started on Jennifer Carpenter. Who the the dimwit that decided to cast her?

And True Blood, The Wire and especially Chuck are better. There are lots more shows better but just typed out the ones that instantly came into my head.

Edit: And Jennifer Carpenter cursing every two seconds makes me want to bash the head against the wall. I HATE her.

Some of Season 6 and pretty much all of Season 7 of Smallville was bad, but Season 8 was good and Season 9 was even better. This Season 10 looks to be one of the best yet because it is the final season.

Amen Bro. I find it hard to imagine anything being better than that show.

I also thought Carnivale was great until it got killed.

I think I found the new show for me to start watching, since nothing this fall looks intriguing.

Although that was an exciting clip, the dude never should have posted it. Especially without including a HUGE spoiler warning.

That clip is not meant to draw in people who have never seen the show. That clip is meant to be a recap of the first two seasons, for people who already watch the show. It is a promotional clip for Season 3, and it's almost impossible for anyone to jump in at that point if they aren't already currently fans of the show. They're gonna miss all of the context and history for pretty much everything that's happening. Nothing will make sense to them.

The problem with that being...that clip includes some HUGE spoilers. Very important and critical events that should not be seen in a 6 minute clip, but should be seen while actually watching the show. If you now go and rent the first two seasons of Breaking Bad on DVD, you now know how a LOT of stuff is going to turn out, thereby removing a lot of the suspense. And sense Breaking Bad has only finished its third season, that clip is a spoiler for two-thirds of the entire series.

Six Feet Under and The Sopranos would like to have a word. Seriously, it seems like people will call the most mediocre shows the "best" show nowadays.
