ITT: People who can't name more than two american dubstep artists and one UK dub artist...FrostyPhantasm...because it's not worth it...
You can't really ruin something that's already utterly horrible...Stavrogin_looool this. Although, American music media does tend to take a music trend and run into the ground due to overuse.
You can't really ruin something that's already utterly horrible...Stavrogin_Pretty much this. All we did was sell it. The only people who liked dubstep were hipsters looking for some none mainstream music to praise so they can look down on other types of music. We muricans decided to advertise it into the mainstream so now the whole world can see how bad it is. You know your music is bad when the only way to trouble enjoy it is high.

Also this thread is proving the OP right in an ironic way.. Everyone trashing Dubstep is referencing US dub.

Dubstep is pretty much a different form of UK Garage.
This isn't real dubstep, it's drum and bass with a 6 year old singing non-sense in the background. oh yeah beacuse saying "LOL JUST GOOGLE IT" would work just fine on your master's thesis
and you just got done yourself saying that this isn't a music class but now all of a sudden you're concerned with proper sources? give me a break
either way you're still wrong. pretty much all of the producers, clubs, labels, etc. who started dubstep are from the uk but i knew from the start that you're too much of a troll to just admit it. it was fun seeing you try you're usual moronic antics though

None of the posts where people are saying "This is UK dubstep" doesn't sound like Dubstep.
It's like how every rock musician likes to pretend they were some important stepping stone in the evolution of Rock, every artist/producer is going to try and take credit.
Citing a page which can be changed by anyone at a whim doesn't really defend any claim.

You're on the internet, if you have a question, google it. LOL....dodging again.Popular American dubstep is crap. Canada jumped on the bandwagon too. I used to think think Excision was awesome.
Power electronics or bust. Dubstep has always been bad-mediocre dribble that often has light Jungle influence. Sounds too prissy and overproduced most of the time.Dubstep is garbage. Best EDM genre is clearrly house

Might as well post something by T-Swift and tell me that it's thrash metal.Nibroc420
Dubstep comes primarily from two genres, dub and 2-step (a subgenre of UK garage) you obviously know nothing of the Uk music scene and are clearly making it up.

I dont care about "The UK Music Scene" and if you call T-Swift "thrash metal" in the UK, you'd also be wrong.
