Did any of you OTers used to play yugioh cards? Do you still?

I totally did. I remember back when yugioh was it its height back in like 2003/2004; I used to go to a local card shop and play against a bunch of other kids in these tournaments. I was never very good at it back then, but I used to have so much fun. In fact, I recently dug out my old deck and have convinced my girlfriend to play with me, and she seems to enjoy it too (she also was a former yugioh fan :p). So how about you guys, did you play, do you still play? If so, where and with whom?

No I never got into the whole pokemon/yugioh/digimon fimbly nimbly card craze... that said I was 20 something when they came around.Too_tight_shoes

I was probably 16 when it happened, but I've alway had a soft spot for japanese fads. Although I don't see the appeal of this Bokugan thing that's popular right now.

My friend was big on Yugioh back in the day (We were about 12 or 11 maybe) but I never was at all, we'd just split his deck in half and duel. I was huge into Pokemon back in the day, I remember being around 7 or 8 when it was big, EVERYONE had them at school, all you'd do at lunch was trade and battle pokemon cards, that is until the school banned them, we still brought them anyways. Ah, the good ol' days... *Sigh*

I used to, but then I realized how bad the yugioh game was. Magic: The Gathering's where it's at! 8)

That said, I don't play Magic anymore, either. :P

I used to have a LOT of cards and I used to play the game but I gave them all to my little cousin. :)

I used to do competitive play, but competitive players I came across were a-holes, impatient, and rude. Whatever happened to playing card games for fun? I still have all my cards and get some occasionally, but I only play casual now. The game has changed a lot since I started playing in 6ht grade, with these new synchro monsters I don't like. If anyone ever wants to duel me in a casual game, PM me because I would definitely be interested. :D

nah, i was a pokemon guy. i never actually played, just collected some cards and looked at them with my friends.

I remember buying a few of the smaller packs ("booster packs"?) and that was it.

I was getting a bit too old for card games at the time when Yugioh was getting popular.

Yup, loved them. I had a favourite card that i used everytime and most of the time gave me the win.. but i cant remember the name of the card for the life of me :(

All i remember was the picture was of a knight (i think) in dark colours holding 2 swords. It was an effect monster and his affect was he gained an extra bonus to atack and defence when a power up card was used on him.

The Pokemon TCG was awesome. I never actually owned any Pokemon cards, but I loved the Gameboy Color game. :P

I still have what was then considered some pretty valuable cards that are in mint condition, so hopefully one day they might be worth something to a collector.

I was too old by the time Yu-Gi-Oh got big.

Had the crards but never really did anything with them. That must have been about 7-8 years ago. I played Yugioh on GBA more than the cards themselves

i did. i was so addicted to it. i even printed out some and put them in those plastic protectors and fooled my friends to battle with me. i even traded them for lunch. money, and other cards. i felt like i was the richest man ever. then beyblade got popular at the same time. try getting fack beyblades off the internet :P

Yep I used to be into it, but I traded all my cards for a pack of gum a few days after.

I just recently took the game back up. It's fun, so why not. Most of the people around here who play it are 15 to 30 years old.

I played for a bit when I was young. I had a pretty good deck, if I remember right, But I couldn't name a card in it.

Nope, I'm a Magic the Gathering player. I've been taught to play yugioh and I quickly realized that the game is down right broken. Magic is infinitely better.

I use to take Yugioh playing really serious. I've been to over 50 local tournaments, and always placed 1rst or 2nd in each. Made about $150-$300 in prizes from all the tournaments combined. Ended up selling my deck for around $200 a couple years back.Random__
