Did he? Why was the tomb empty, and why did Thomas "touch" him. There are even reports of him eating, walking, and appearing to over 500 people. What really happened?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Well, I think he might really have. But it is only a hypothesis.
Say, you know the Shroud of Turin, right? Well, let's assume that the description in Bible about resurrection is true, the shroud is real, then things do fit together quite well.
Let's look at the story of Lot and his Wife. When God sacked the city of Sodom, Lot and his wife were instructed by God to leave and not to look bad. But Lot's wife looked back, and she was punished by god:
Genesis 19:26
There is no explanation I could think of that can turn human body into Sodium chloride. However, I really doubt the witness of the story actually had the audacity to go up and see if it was actually salt (since turning around and look means becoming a pillar of "salt" themselves.) Therefore, it is possible that Lot's wife was simply turned into some kind of ash pile under intense amount of heat, and the shape was preserved through rapid dehydration and molecular structure crystallization.
This suggests that God is a being that is capable of manipulating some form of strong energy, possibly radioactive since it can travel at far, controlled distance.
Also, when the Jewish people were wandering in the desert, facing their enemies, they use the Ark of the Covenant a their weapon. The ark would release a huge fire column against its enemy. Also, when Jewish people were crossing the red sea, it is also possible that this intense amount of energy formed two energy walls that vaporises all sea water coming into the passage, therefore created a path. The Ark could possibily some highly technological device made by God that demonstrates God's understanding of energy manipulation.
It is very possible, then that, this same technology was used on Jesus's body for two possible scenarios:
1 - God vaporized Jesus's remains and made a new one to show his power. However, this does not explain why Jesus still carry the wounds from the crucification. A new clone should not have the wounds.
2 - God used the advanced energy-based technology to revive Jesus back to life. We know that embryo cells carry all the vital information for the construction of an entire body, therefore scientists are trying to do stem cell research - in hope that they could find a way to regenerate vital body parts needed by aging or sick people. Could it be possible that the energy God used temporarily altered the cell structure of each cells Jesus' remain possessed, accelerated the growth speed, and brought Jesus' body back into working order without damaging the brain wave patterns, therefore retain all memories?
Either way, we know some form of high-degree energy alteration was done to Jesus' body. The rise of temperature damaged the fabric of the shroud, leaving an impression of Jesus on the shroud - the very first photograph known to the world!
Once again, all speculative.
There isn't any other explanation for him "dissapearing."
If the body was stolen, then the disciples and everyone that knew of it would have died for a lie, something not many are willing to do, especially after how afraid the disciples were after Jesus died.
The body would be hard to steal too. Roman gaurds had their lives on the line gaurding this tomb, and they would've been finished if they had let anyone close to it. Also, the tomb was on a downhill slope that they rolled the massive stone in front of. There isn't any way that they can get a stone big enough as it was(don't know the exact measurements, but enough to cover a hole in a wall that someone can walk in).
Also, Jesus appeared to around 500 people(it's in 1st Corinthians somewhere). And it was NOT a hallucination. 500 people don't all see the same hallucination. There isn't any explanation for this.
There's a few more arguments out there, but ya'll can chew on those for a while and let me know what you think.
Since a lot of information was not included in the Bible, the accuracy of a lot of details are also questionable, plus the fact that it is nearly two thousand years ago when it happened, it is going to be hard to use what bible had said to determine the truth. But from what the Bible has described, yeah, Jesus came back from the dead land and gave his followers another tour before he wnet up, up, and away!yian
Or, it could just be a supernatural thing that happened. Weird, unexplainable stuff happens everyday. Miracles happen all the time.Unexplainable, but hey, they happen.
I agree that almost no person would die a horrible death (like in peters case being crucified upside side down) for a lie. I also agree with the fact that convincing 500 people to say that they saw a resurected Jesus would be hard. Anyone saying that would be siding with Jesus and would be saying that he is indeed the son of God, which they could be killed or even crucified for.
There's also the theory that Jesus didn't really die, and he was really just barely alive when they toke him from the cross. The diciples then later raided the tomb and used spices to revive Him. There are several relaible sources (not just the Bible) that say that Jesus did in fact die.
Further evidence of some sort of miricle is that the head peice of the wraping cloths was found folded, neatly, at the end of the stone bed and that the wraping around the body were still in a spiral pattern, as if someone simple dissapeared out of them. It would take hours to accomplish. Someone would have noticed the open tomb and the dead or knocked-out guards.
[QUOTE="pzco"]Oyy, religious discussion. Don't expect a concrete answer.suicidalpoptrtOh yea? Watch this:Yes
good answer on top of that id like to add that people take whatever he did in life as fact and there is a story before he died he brought a man back to life so yes he did resurrect

Also, Jesus totally was dead. These Roman gaurds were the best in the WORLD at the time at executions. They were highly trained to do so. There isn't any way he wasn't dead.

Yeah, a dude called Longinus. And the spear was called the Holy Lance, or The Spear of Longinus, named after him.
Spear of Longinus was on the moon once, i think. Not sure how that happened.
What? I'm kind of confused right now..

Aww, thanks man. I mean, I really have been looking into stuff like this lately. I love it, and maybe I'll go to school for it or something. It would be a fun job:).

All of those questions are already answered by God in His Word. But if you want a deeper understanding of those questions I would recommend reading the Bible and praying and asking God to reveal the deeper meaning about them.

Good advice. I mean, you might not be up for it, but it would help you answer some questions.
read the Bible. you'll find ur answer. MichaeltheCM
The Bible...a book written by some primitive sheepherders between 3000 and 2000 years ago...oh and several chapter were added by a Roman traitor...I doubt that can be considered a correct source.
Even so...there are discrepancies in the whole cruxifixion-resurrection story:
1. Jesus was put up to the cross with nails. False...Crucifixion victims were TIED to the cross. Nails in the palms of the hand and in the feet, would just rip through the flesh once the victim is put up. So if Jesus had been crucified that way, he would have fallen off the cross. simple.
2. Jesus can't have been buried...Crucifixion victims were left to ro and were NEVER buried.
3. Romans didn't crucify somebody for being a peaceful prophet. Only violent rebels (f.ex. Spartacus) and traitors to the Empire faced the risk of crucifixion.
And then there's the fact of the so many eye-witnesses...strange that Paul is only the first to make mention of these...50 years after said events...
So, I find the whole faery tale hard to believe.
yea he did.....i mean I hope he did
.....or who did I just give my money too????? (I doubt it was a regular bum)

Good points. The Romans also created highly detailed documents for each crucifixion, much like capital punishment today. I don't think they would have failed to mention killing the son of God.
