Did X-Files ever wrap up the story?

I watched them all years ago but I can't remember. Did they ever wrap up the story and make everything conclude, or did they just not answer anything and leave it open?

From what I heard the main arc was a complete waste of time and nothing was resolved.

I like the monster-of-the-week format better anyway, so I'm still watching it...only on season 2 so far.

That show really went downhill towards the end. It got to the point where you just didn't care.

Well now we have Fringe so now everything is better now.:D

It had an actual story? I always thought they just went out and solved random mysteries.....

I loved the xfiles and the first 6 seasons. Season 7-9 I watched but the show really hit bottom.

The show production team moved to Canada with some writer changes and the show sunk. The follow up movie Was boring and even fans were dissapointed.

I am hoping for one more movie to clear the show up even if it means straight to dvd.

X-files had several story episodes every seasons. The story is great and complicated.

Here the major spoiler: alien will start colonization in 2012 (maybe we will have a movie to wrap up the series)
