I don't remember specifically what they told me in health class. I do find some of those PSA's pretty funny though. I'd find them insulting too if I didn't think they were written by children. You know the one where some kid runs over a little girl at the drive-thru because he's high. Also, the poorly drawn cartoon of a dog saying "You disappoint me" to his master who's smoking a joint.luccaface

yea that drive thru one was so stupid.  The problem isn't the drug, it's driving under the influence duh same deal with alchohol - a legal drug.

Of course. One puff of weed is comparable to 100 cigarettes at once.

I don't know what your health classes told you. Most drugs have some therapeutic effects, I'm not sure which ones you are referring to.

I was one of the brainwashed ones who thought that all drugs were bad, and would never do them. Only for about half a year now I know it was all a bunch of a government propaganda. It's like a joke to me now, just like all of those anti-drug ads.Caffeine_Trip

It's been blown way out of proportion. I feel that any drug is acceptable as long as the user can demonstrate self-control, awarness of limitations, and responsibility for his/her life and those around him/her.

It's when drug use is no longer a recreation, once-in-a-while- thing to do that it becomes a problem. We can blame all the problematic and habitual abusers for the drug bans these days since they set a bad example... oh and our greedy government who classifies many drugs as illegal simply because they are too difficult to tax... greedy ****

Funny thing is it's now pretty established that a big mac is worse than a cigarette. Obesity is the biggest health problem in the US right now but you don't see any TV ads telling you to say away from the evil fast food.tazzydnc
Its the lesser of two evils... doesent make it any less evil...

Our Social ed. classes on drugs weren't too bad when I was at school. But they did talk alot of crap about Ecstasy. Ecstasy has been pretty big in the UK for a long time now and is fairly mainstream, when I went to school the government was desperate to get rid of it. They made it seem a lot more dangerous than it really is. They totally exagerated the risk which I think alot of people over here still have a misunderstanding about, it is actually less dangerous than alcohol. I can barely even remember them talking about any other drugs which is ridiculous.
