Now that I've been out of school for a couple years, my perspective on high school has changed. At the time I really wanted to get out of there, but now I realize I really enjoyed high school, even though I wouldn't necessarily want to do it again. I was fairly popular and had a great group of friends, most of whom I still see. So what about you? How were your high school years?

College was ok too but the only thing I liked better was the freedom. If we weren't doing anything, we can leave. Don't feel like going, don't have to go.

transfered from Mascoutah HS to an overcrowded one. basically became a loner. then come junior year, i transferred back to mascoutah school. but i was unable to break out of my loner schtick so just finished HS while being a loner.

Freshman, sophomore, and junior years all sucked for various reasons. Senior year is not going good either.

i kinda enoyed the last semester of my senior year. once i found out i only had to actually pass 2 classes to graduate, i basically didnt do sh!t in my classes except those 2. one was Senior Rec which you have to try to fail. easiest class ever. other was a writing class. i did okay, got blindsided though, last big grade was a speech. luckily i passed it.

rest of my classes i just didnt hardly do sh!t:P

was happy to get out of there.

Yes, because a ton of hw, immature kids, and condescending teachers are exactly what I'll be missing in a few years from now.

Looking back, I hated all my school years in all levels of education. HS was bad, because I hated the popularity contests--but most of all I hated waking up at 8am, 5 days a week, and not getting paid for it. Home schooling to finish off HS was okay because I had my own hours.

The only thing I liked about getting a education was reading the text books and learning to myself. I also hate to give presentations and speeches; even when I am reading off a piece of paper. I can't give a speech without reading it off a piece of paper.:)

Manual work life was a lot better for me because atleast I was getting paid, and I was surrounded by mature individuals for the most part.

I believe everyone should have a college education though if at all possible. I have a certificate in Business Administration.

I could go on about all the reasons I hated HS, for example, all the classes I didn't like: sewing, art, woodwork, and so forth.

teachers couldnt really do sh!t.

somehow for not really doing anything i think my lowest grade of all my classes was a D. cuz i chose to not do a 5 page writing assignment. was like b!tch please, i aint doin this sh!t.

Overall, they were pretty sh!tty. I was unschooled until I was 17 1/2 (so I didn't even have any friends in real life), and I suffered from moderate depression and self-hatred. The only good things that happened in that time were my intellectual enrichment, my successful efforts to eschew my depression and self-hatred, and the gradual improvment of my social skills.

Good times, bad times, although at the moment I'm looking at it really positvely. I guess it's nostalgia. Met some of my closest friends there. Had some great time with them too.

I did. Especially band, band trips and physics. Two things I would have changed: 1. I would have focused more on academics, less on socializing/gaming. 2. Manned up and talked to the girls I liked.

High school was fun. I'd never want to go back and do it over, but I definitely had more fun than I was supposed to, with a couple of incredibly low moments in there, but I grew from it and wouldn't change a thing.

Sure

K. We were having a discussion in English regarding politics and whatnot and I made a side comment that I wasn't voting. English teacher blew the fvck up at me and immediately started yelling at me and making stupid comments like, "I lost what little respect I had for you," "people died so you could vote," "you can't bring change about if you don't vote," and on and on. I tried to explain to her why I wasn't voting, but she just shut me down by constantly yelling at me to shut up. The fact that she wouldn't let me explain pissed me off and afterwards, a classmate of mine came up to me and called me a douche. I called her a fat b*tch and told her to fvck off. Was livid for the next two periods after that.

 I'm sorry dude, but that's hilarious. Especially the last part with the chick. Random stuff like that is part of what I miss about HS.
