Didn't know gamespot was so sensitive.

So, I opened up the front page of gamespot and it said i had 1 email in my inbox. I looked to see what it was and it was a terms of violation use. Apparently insulting another user's thread by calling it dumb and for valid reasons is trolling now. I'm starting to notice on here and other sites that nobody knows the real definition of trolling anymore.

Anyway, on to the purpose of this thread. Have you ever got an email from GS about a terms of violation use for a dumb reason, and what was it about?

Yes, yes. Everyone likes to point that out. Personally, it doesn't bother me so much even though I have received two petty warnings.

That's just how this site works. As a rule of thumb here, if you think a post could be even remotely moddable, you're better off not posting it. :P

You either get used to it, or move to a site with more flexible rules.

I'm sure some of the posts here will be deleted or the thread locked because it hurts their feelings.

I dunno about that, the mod who did it might not be on or change anything.

I don't mind when people insult me, but others seem to be. Just follow the rules and don't insult people or their threads.

Eh, smells like trolling to me, but whatever. I just recently received a message for a moderation because I was being careless so I definitely deserved it.

Yea, this goddamn website sucks ass now. I'm not sure when it all went downhill. I think it was a slow progression to more and more stingent rules. They've reached the point now where it ceases to even be enjoyable to post here. Ownership by CBS, political correctness, and hyper-sensitivity have caused these forums to deteriorate into a blow-hard pile of bull ****.

It's definitely one of the more stricter sites, but honestly, it's probably for good reason. Trolling is super annoying, and the strict rules here have seemed to curb many of the annoying posts in the last year or so. or maybe it's just me.....

oh and to answer the question, I used to get modded mostly for not correctly bleeping out foul language, but I've never insulted anyone or anything like that. And I have been modded once for an old avatar I used to have. A GIF from Raiders of the lost ark where the guys face is melting. Someone reported me cause it was too bloody. :(

My last one was incrdibly stupid, yes. I don't see how it was "offensive" at all. Anyone who could get offended by it it is just an oversensitive wimp. :?

LOL. Sad thing is that you were probably reported by someone who wanted to get the +1 points for that. Hope hes happy with the +1 points. I can't believe we are being rewarded to pretend to be oversensitive... This isn't a damn kids website (minimum age is 13 or something like that.)

I used to be surprised when I got a warning. Now, it doesn't bother me at all. I suggest you rack up more moderations until you reach the stage where one more doesn't bother you anymore. :D :P

: I got modded for trolling, the case of trolling was that I had said that a couple of people (not named,) on some threads (not named,) were ignorant of a part of Islamic culture. I mean seriously; trolling is nowadays also known as calling anonymous people ignorant when they completely ARE. Its not a not a personal insult, I didn't post it to annoy people, it was a factual truth, I mean how much further away can that Be from trolling.

Its the people who report you... the mods don't seem so bad, but they are probably obliged to delete anything found offensive.
