Yes I agree. Remember Sam Jackson from Die Hard 3, he's one racist bastard, but no one cares because he's being racist towards a white person, though McClane does comment on it which I was happy to see. If you've seen 25th Hour starring Edward Norton, think back to the scene where he goes on about all the people he hates in the bathroom, the one segment on the guys at the basketball court is very true, I don't think I can repeat it on these forums, but while it's vulgur and extreme, it's ultimately very true.
I think that there is a different mentality and level of tolerability towards racism in different races, I think some are unnecessarily sensitive and over-the-top but that's still generalizing, I don't like to label a whole group of people as reacting one way, but it's true that there are more cases of white people tolerating and laughing off racism towards them while african americans getting all upset over small things. My aunt was called a racist by a black woman because she told the ladies kids to stop jumping up and down on couches in some waiting room somewhere, she was doing it just because the kids were acting inappropriately, but the lady was insistant that it was because of their skin. Again, not everyone is like that and there are many who think it's stupid and nothing to get worked up over, but there is a large group of people of every skin colour who have the mentality that people of other colours are out against them and any hostility is a result of race. It's pretty stupid, annoying and pathetic when it winds up on TV. But considering MTV is a channel made up of bottom-feeder programs that entertain people of the lowest intelligence, it's not entirely surprising.
