Do Americans recycle? Do YOU recycle?

It's legally required to recycle in my state, so I have to recycle.

North Carolina surprisingly has a good recycling system. At least in my area.

Yeah. In fact, I just recycled nearly 40 pounds of aluminum cans today. I got $18 for it. :P

The city I live in sorts the garbage enough so that I can throw a can in the trash and feel the same about it as if I were throwing it into a recycle bin

Well I don't know about America, but I recycle.

I just watched a documentary about the consumption and waste of resources in America.

Personally I found it sickening that the US is one of the most developed countries in the world with a population of over 300 millions, and the lack of investment in equipment and education in these matter of recycling.

It left me wandering: Do americans recycle?

About 10 yrs ago in Portugal, it was rare to find a person that recycled. Mostly because the state didn't provide means to do it. But in recent years the amount of investement, publicity and public encouragement to do so, the percentage of resources that we recycle sky rocketed.

This is the case of many european countries.

So do you recycle? ANSWER!! :P

Hey man I feel where you are coming from. In Florida they recycle but in Georgia they do not. I have lived in Georgia for 2 years now and my kitchen is filled with glass jars, plastic bottles, and i throw away my tin cans but in Florida we had a recycling bin in from of the apartments that the local collectors came and got....so I end up throwing my stuff in the dumpster now.

I definitely recycle. And, I compost.

When i can,i recycle.

Every household here has a normal garbage bin and a recycling bin for paper, plastic and aluminium. Considering the bins both get full in a week I recycle quite a bit.

yes. as much as i can. my recycling bin is always more filled up than my trash bin. and i always return my bottles and cans to get some extra cash.
