[QUOTE="taylor888"]I feel like it would be way sweeter if I was in residency. Living at home has its benefits ($$$), but I want more of a change. So far it has been: go to class, leave, repeat. I'm not meeting new people or having the "college experience" that I think I should. I could always transfer in a few years, but I need money for that. Kind of getting ahead of myself though, I haven't even had an assignment marked yet! grove12345

^^^^^ meeee.

Im on my master degree and never had the "college experience".

People go to class, dont talk, and just leave.

Then again my major is tech stuff. If i was doing general studies im sure lots of hot 18 year old girls. But nope.

Im 28 and i plan on moving into the dorms just so i can find parties and young horny chicks.

You just have to wait until 3 am when "creepy old guy" turns into "tolerable old guy" and eventually into "sexy old guy"

[QUOTE="dodgerblue13"][QUOTE="cd_rom"]I loved college. I want to go back to college. In fact I'm probably going to. Try to go for Master's or possibly another degree.cd_rom
Do you feel like you need a graduate degree to better your career or do you just enjoy college that much?

Both. Right now, I have a BS in "Computer Science" which basically will dump me as a code monkey. I would like to have a degree that says "Master's in Artificial Intelligence" and hope to get a research position while getting the Master's.

How hows that BS in CS cause thats the degree I wanted to go for. Like is it easy/hard and worth it (if u made it that far)

In general, I like and liked college (I'll be finishing my Master's degree next month). The general ed is a bit dragging, sometimes. It gets alot cooler and more interesting when you get to the point where you just have to do your classes required for your specific major.

I loved my undergrad years, although grad school wasn't as much fun. Nim definitely in the minority but I enjoyed school not because of the drinking Nd parties but because of the seemingly limitless courses I could take. I always tried to mix it up, I was a science major so I would take all my required classes, then something that I thought might help me in life like finance....or culinary classes, then I would take one off the wall class that was purely for fun. I had a blas in most of the classes, the besttime of the year was when the new class offerings would come out and just hanong out in my car trying to mix in all the wants and needs into some sort of super semester!

First two years, while there was a fair amount of work, were probably the best. Next 3 were pretty "Meh I really cbf with this".

It's alright. I just think some of the freshmen are extremely annoying.

I worked my butt off in college and got quite a sense of achievement out of it. I used to party a lot in high school, and then again after college, but I'd actually go a whole semester without even having a beer in college. Way too busy with homework. Had an okay social life, even though I never really tried to make friends with anybody. They just seemed to accumulate.

It was a good experience overall I'd say. I was very happy to get out in the world and start earning money afterwards though.

The fraternity I was vying for turned me downthe_plan_man
People get turned down? From what I have heard this is very rare (for people who stick it out)
I loved college. I want to go back to college. cd_rom
Same. It was the best decade of my life. Would love to win a lot of money and be a 'career student'

I'm actually going to tell the school I want to drop out tomorrow. I chose the wrong direction. College is great for the rest, just pick the right thing. I went just to go to school, bad decision.

I think I would enjoy it more if I didn't have to work a lot. Between school work and my job I don't have much time to have fun anymore.

[QUOTE="thegerg"][QUOTE="Hubadubalubahu"]Had to go to community college due to my parents not coddling me and allowing me to suck on thier financial teet. I did not enjoy it. bunch of middle aged people and black people, (not a bad thing i just felt very out of place. I am very white). Had i gone through the whole college experience i would of probably loved it, (even though alot of my friends came home as know-it-all annoyances that all felt they had become drinking gods.)Hubadubalubahu
You didn't have to go to community college. Stop placing blame elsewhere. You made a decision and went through with it.

Once you have to pay for your own things you will realize that i HAD to go to community college or no college at all. Living on your own is one thing but paying for college is an intimidating and difficult thing. And i dont belive i was "placing blame" anywhere. I dont for a second blame my parents for thier choice and wouldnt have it any other way. No need to respond like an arrogant dick

Says the guy who is comparing everyone who has their parents assist them with college to a baby being carried through life...

Being in community college myself (after already having a BS degree in Biology) I can correlate to community college being terrible. If I went to community college prior to my BS degree I would've likely failed the first couple semesters once I got to the big schools. But overall college is a great experience, until you get out in the work force and realize that unless you have like 3-5 years experience you won't be getting a job anytime soon.

We are on the same boat here my friend, salute. Biology is beautiful as philosophy but not as a career Damn even for me as microbiologist…. for this field you have to go to graduate school and get a PhD to get something as a lab assistant.

I enjoy my times at the uni because I like too study and it was a good way to get out.

A hell of a lot better than High School. The one year I did in college was pretty damn good. Planning on going back to college soon and I might end up $150,000 in the hole when I do...^.^

First 2 years were awesome but after that and transferring out of state I figured I should buckle down since I couldn't get a free pass from the parents if I was in trouble or anything like that. To be totally honest I'm having way more fun post college with having a real job, making real money and just clowning around with co-workers and friends at the bars.
