do japaneses girls talk like the girls in anime in real life??

ive found out how most of the girls in anime have such high-pitched voices and it seems quite inhuman to be talking like that all the time and in real-life. do japanese girls really talk like that in real life or is it just professional voice-acting? (examples would be orihime and yachiru in bleach and maybe even hinata in naruto shippuden)

Most Japanese girls I've talked to have perfectly normal voices rather than that high-pitched squeaking you hear on TV.

I think English speaking teenage girls also have really high-pitched annoying voices, so I'm not even sure it's a cultural difference.

There was one Japanese girl in my grade in high school and she had a deep voice.

Their voices are definitely more high pitched but its not to the extent that you regularly see in anime. While some do have voices like that I'd say the majority just have a slightly higher pitch than women in North America.

It's gotta be based on something right? Well either anime imitates real life, or Japanese girls imitate anime. It's not such a stretch. Think Twilight.

I took Japanese with girls with soft, tinkly/squeaky voices who can do the accent professionally. Me, I sound like a white guy reading from a dictionary (and I'm not white).

I doubt it. If so, I would imagine that the birthrate in Japan would be among the lowest on the planet due to there not being any men who can stand it, especially that they've realized there are alternatives. Wait... japan's birthrate IS among the lowest in the world...

Not just Japanese girls, but a lot of the Chinese girls at my university too.

From what I hear, yes. I listen to this podcast where these English-speaking guys who live in Japan talk about life there, specifically games. They were talking about FF13, and they got the subject of Vanille, the annoying, loud, happy-go-lucky girl, criticized as a bad character by many for her high pitched voice and extremely happy attitude. According to them, they could walk outside at any moment and find a random girl who walks and talks just like Vanille. It's normal there, I guess.enterawesome

Before I graduated HS this year, our new "sister school," whatever the heck that is, came to the USA to have a tour of our school. they were from Japan and even brought a few students. so I can tell you this from what I saw and heard all week.
