People usually stare at me when I sound like an elephant, going highspeed on a treadmill.....I usually glance at the pros who've been going for years, to check their workouts, their form, so I can add it to my own workout.
Staring isn't always something sexual or something. Sometimes I glance to make sure my form is right by someone that obviously knows what they're doing. I can't afford a personal trainer so it's the next best thing. Also, I sometimes look at attractive ladies. I try not to look too long, but i definitely think there are men and women that go to the gym looking for attention from others.
Another reason why i don't go to the gym anymore......................another one was seeing a dudes bum in the locker room :lol: Go on a Sunday or saturday, completely dead and you can have the whole thing to yourself!
yea i get stares alot.... me and my friend started making nicknames on them xD there was this 1 guy we named him MR.BEAN :D he looks like him photocopy :D
My friend and i practically had fans in our gym after we came there one night and had a leg lift competition. there were like 20 people standing by us when we maxed out the machine at 1,250 pounds. what was funny was that this one dude in the crowd tried to impress everyone and lift 1,000 pounds, lets just say his legs didnt agree with him. i do p90x now so my days at the gym are numbered

This is why I don't go to gyms. I get stared at in co-ed gyms and all female gyms are WAY to expensive :( Amnesiac23

Yeah some guy started staring at me today and pouring hot oil all over hist chest. Jk. I don't rly know because at the gym I'm almost killing myself like "ARGHHH GODDAMNIT It's SO HEAVY WHY THE F*** AM I EVEN PAYING TO COME HERE??!!! I COULD BE HOME RAIT NOW". Yep.

Wondered the same thing this afternoon when I was there. Anyway there was this girl that kept staring at me and by staring I mean like a hungry tiger looks at a zebra...it was very..awkward. I had some brief looks and after a while I remembered I had seen her before.
Turns out we know each other so maybe she was just checking if I wasn't the wrong guy. I liked her when I was like in 8th grade she was in 11th, we did the same extracurricular activities and I had virtually no chance with her.
I remembered how she was back then and I stared at her now, 80 more pounds do no good to anyone. I lol'd in my mind while thinking "I "liked" this girl?! :lol:"
Moral of the story, yes I stare.

Women stare at me at the gym sometimes. But I mean, gyms are just giant meat markets. So it's fairly normal.
I don't stare, because I don't trust myself. If I stared at some of the women that were staring at me...there might be trouble, and I'm not in the position right now where I could captitalize on such an event (already taken).

Maybe only the crazy people are lifting at 4 am...who knows. And you can't stop crazy from being crazy (other than a barbell to the head).

Given the content of the question posed to you, that reminds of someone else, not from TDH.
Generally when I'm at the gym I'm too busy to really notice much of other people. If I see a major hottie in attire that is eyecatching I may take a couple of discrete glances before getting back to what I'm doing.
people don't stare at me cause i'm not really that buff, but if i'm at a place where i'm the most ripped-looking person, then yes, some people do stare. it's funny how much some people will stare when they think you don't know that they're staring :P

The place i use to work out at was something like 95% gay men and they were always checking me out/asking me out/etc. Midtown Atlanta (anyone from here knows what i am talking about). They had a really solid price for what they offered and being like the only straight male who was a member never really bothered me.
Eventually they did a remodel after which they jacked the prices up so i left and haven't worked out since.
I don't really stare, I am extremely focused on my workout. At the most I'll use my peripheral's inbetween sets to scope the place out, there are never many pretty women when I go to the gym unfortunetly. I think some people have stared at me, but it doesn't really phase me. Altho I just got my membership to 24 hour fitness and have only been there 4 times thus far.

No or at least I try not to unless it's something that can benefit me in some way (like a lesson or "motivation" when you happen to be on a treadmill where you're behind a very nice behind. :P)

I don't know why but I'm beginning to share the same sentiment. Maybe it's the large gyms, I don't know but I still enjoy swimming and jogging.
