Do people still PenPal?

So I was wondering, do people still do this.I remember when people had penpals, maybe someone in another country.I wanted to know because thought it would be cool to do this after all these years.I didn't think people did because of facebook, twitter etc.

When I was in elementary school in the 1980s, the whole pen pal thing was a big thing. I wrote once or twice to my pen pal buddy lol.

Then after that I lost the envelope that had his mailing adress so I never wrote back to him anymore

Usually people in prison looking for a woman they can swindle when they get out.

When I was 14 or 15 I had a girl PenPal in Canada, I live in Western Europe. We'd send letters and photographs to eachother. 't was fun.

The most memorable thing was the perfume smell of the letter. I had never seen her in real life but I knew how she smelled (I don't mean this as weird as this sounds). It was like she was very close yet so far.. d'aww.

Ofcourse after a few years we lost touch.

Not since I was 9. >.>

I haven't done that in a few years.

i remember our teacher once asked this when i was in school, penpal, i never had one before but i got pals here and there at the internet heck there are people who cares about me and i kinda like international friends.

I email 3 friends in England regularly. We chat about our lives and situations. Even though none of us use a "pen", it's the same thing.

In Year 3, we all had the opportunity to send messages to penpals from France in groups of three.

Personally, nowadays I think it was probably one of the other teachers in the school, but ehh.. lol

Come to think if it I've never sent a hand written letter to anybody.:|

Nowadays prisoners ruin the fun of the whole pen pal thing.

Doing the whole pen pal correspondence back in elementary school was awesome. Wish everyone would get back into pen pals but like I said, prisoners at prisons ruin the fun of it now these days
