Everything doesn't happen for a reason

Wait, what?

Yeah if he was actually paying attention to his PSP, and not being irresponsible he'd be having it right now. What? If he had his PSP he would have walked out into the street at a certain time and got him by a car? So god hid his PSP so he wouldn't get hit by a car? I don't get it, doesn't god cement destiny, so everything that happens is going to happen and can't be change because got made it so you can't change it?

Oh how religious people love to bend their own rules so they suit them. I don't believe in god, by the way.

I've felt that way sometimes.

And are you seriously blaming God for your PSP problems? :|

That's definitely not what I extrapolated from your statement. I was just expressing my incredulity at the idea that something can happen and not have a reason or a cause behind it.

Nope... because God doesn't exist. I mean, how could he?

I am the source of all my problems in life... and all the solutions.

The very fact that most definitions claim he is "supernatural" and exterior to this universe and by mere definition cannot "exist" within this universe. Sure, if you were to claim God is an anthropomorphic deity that lives a top a mountain, that can be refuted or proven. However, when you start leaving the definition up to the winds of vagueness and don't allow him any definable attributes, you don't give the God any reason to exist.

Its the fault of the claimants that God cannot exist... they've pushed him so far outside the universe, that there is absolutely no way he can ever be proven to exist.

If that's you in your avatar, you actually look like the kind of guy who has alot of bad luck.

DazedDarkness

Are you saying what I think you are, XD or am I misunderstanding?

[QUOTE="MuddVader"]

If bad luck is gods way of saying he doesnt like you than he has a Vendetta against my family =o
******* I finally get it >=0 I'm gonna get him. "Hol' me back, Hold me back!"

No but seriously, my family has suffered nothing but bad fortune for atleast 6-7 years if not more, so yeah =P

Second_Rook

Sorry to hear that, but your defeatist attitude is only gonna make it worse. Time for you to get back on the horse.

Defeatist, I just looked up the exact def. and that is us lol. We just dont expect much to work right, but ive always thought that made us kind of stronger because we're expecting of the worse while still hopeing for the best. It sounds stupid but it works out for us in the end when we are thrown on our faces and the world falls apart around us =o Understand? We've in less than 10 years lost three houses, My dad has lost his job in construction 2 maybe 3 times I dont remember which while he was the main income, my older sister is a drug addict with two kids, My fathers a depressed drunk, and my mom is the overstressing type whom cant let things go and keeps trying and trying which is why she has never taken my older sisters kids and why she has never left my dad. my life might not be the hardest, but from what I come from, I would have to be crazy to be optimistic about life in general, lol. I recently moved away from the bulk of my family though so maybe things will get better for me, who knows, I try though.

Something doesn't have to be proven in order for it to exist. Well maybe for you, but asking how could God exist in your original post is implying you don't even acknowledge the possibility of God existing. What of the unexplained phenomena on our planet and the creation of the universe? You're saying that God cannot have anything to do with those?

I also always took your second sentence on how to live my life. If I have a problem, I attracted it in some way with the thoughts I think or something I did. And only I can solve it, by changing the way I think.

LikeHaterade

  1. Until something is proven, its existence can easily be questioned... and if there is no evidence at all to even suggest it exists, one cannot claim it does.
  2. I was implying that the defining God as "supernatural" doesn't allow it to be proven in this universe because by the definition of supernatural puts it outside the universe. A "God" could surely exist outside the universe, but as it is presently defined by most religions, it cannot exist inside.
  3. Unexplained phenomena on our planet have a possibility to be explained in time since they exist within the universe. Something that exists exterior to the universe can never be explained.
  4. The universe was formed. All we will and can ever know is the method in which it was formed... not what created the formation itself or even if it was created.
  5. I am saying that by the currently accepted Abrahamic definition of "God," there is no way of ever knowing since it is impossible to prove.

Yes, sometimes very much so. I'll have to have chemotherapy every other week for the rest of my life. Plus I live in chronic pain. There are bad times in life, this is understandable and something I can EASILY deal with as they come and go (in comparison to what I live with daily), but when hardship is constant and will never end, I can't help but wonder if I've done something so wrong that others haven't and what it is/was. My situation sure feels like the wrath of God. I suppose I pulled the wrong straw.

I don't believe God punishes me, simply that I make my own mistakes and have to suffer the consequences. That way, I don't need to cite divine influence when I succeed at things.

That's horrible, it's not your fault, you just have some serious bad luck. Your condition is bad enough already, no need to make it worse by thinking it's your own fault in some way.

No. Why do people blame their problems on "God"? IMO, there's no magical being above that is watching us. And if he were, I'd like to believe that he is understanding and forgiving, so he wouldn't punish anyone.

Because he is the existence.

We cannot comprehend God's thinking or his essence. Because where still here in the physical world. Its like the carpenter and a table. The carpenter knows everything about the table. But the table will never understand the carpenter. get it? its hard to explain.
