So far University has brought the best years of my life, high school was okay, played rugby/football/lacrosse, had some good friends, wasn't the king of popularity but I had my group...
University kicks ass though, I'm engaged, live with my fiancee in a huge apartment, love attending class, still play rugby, have way more friends...
Highly disagree. My "graduate early and then spend a year off sitting aroudn doing nothing" phase was the best. Being smart has its advantages.Vandalvideo
You sir are my hero...my cousin did the same thing only he started college early(surprisingly his HS friends still remembered him). I think I missed my chance though.
No...i disagree...my highschool years were horrible...basically my whole school experience was...and the college years aren't looking any better..
No, it would kind of suck if the glory years take place in a four yoear span in the beginning of your life. Why bother living the rest of the 50-60yrs if those were the best years? I'm enjoying my time right now in grad school, but I would say that I hope my best days are ahead of me and it'll keep getting better.
I'm pretty sure the "best years of your life" aren't supposed to give you suicidal thoughts (and beyond) as they have to me....
My highschool years were probably the lowest points of my life. I was in alternative programs for the majority of my time in highschool at least, so it was nothing special.
I went to the cIassroom off campus, got a weeks worth of homework, didnt do it, and than went back the next week. Very trivial.
Hah indeed. The time i stopped with school was awesome. No more worries or stress. Jees it was then i realized how badly i hated it. I still have to find a nice job but even with decent stuff, it's what You make of it and i have never regretted that decision. In fact i'm looking for a new job and i know i should study for better pay, but i am so happy to be rid of it that it is nigh impossible to motivate myself :PI never went Highschool or College or Uni, so how the hell does it apply to me? Or what the hell does that even mean? That i've not even lived? I know I wish I did get to go to higher education but that wasn't meant to be for me, but I don't think anyone can name one thing even your above avarage high school student has experienced that I have not (except graduating).

That's not the point. Just because your hormones have made you contemplate suicide doesn't mean that your life inside of high school is necessarily bad.I'm pretty sure the "best years of your life" aren't supposed to give you suicidal thoughts (and beyond) as they have to me....

Most people that I've come into contact with over the years feel that High School was the worst time of their life whereas college was the best.
[QUOTE="Tigerman950"]That's not the point. Just because your hormones have made you contemplate suicide doesn't mean that your life inside of high school is necessarily bad. Yes for some it gets way worse right after. Like when they studied for something because they actually liked it, and then find out that everybody is getting random jobs no matter what You studied :P and they aren't looking for what You are in to. I've heard that story so many times. So they get a stupid different job. And when they try again they can only get another job in the stupid job category because that is the only branche in which they have the all important 'experience' lol. Horrible.I'm pretty sure the "best years of your life" aren't supposed to give you suicidal thoughts (and beyond) as they have to me....

The only people who think these are the 'best years' of their lives are jocks and cheerleader types who end up flipping burgers for the rest of their lives.

I really enjoyed my 20's (1996-2006). I made a lot of stupid mistakes, including getting married for the wrong reasons and subsequently divorced, but man oh man was it a fun ride there for a while. Especially my early 20's before marriage, running around with the guys and just exploring the world by ourselves for the first time, going of to college, getting my first place, having my first real relationship, it was all grand. I'll take the bad with the good, because it made me stronger and more aware of who I am.
High school was hell. I despised the social structures of high school and never really got involved with anything other than with my close friends (who went to different high schools). I hated the idiots I went to school with save a few. They were all so superficial (late 80's early 90's) and listented to that stupid hair metal like Motely Crue. Ugh, no thanks.
[QUOTE="xionvalkyrie"]Hooray for generalizations and ignorance. Yeah, I had a lot of fun in HS, lifes what you make of it, if you're sitting in the corner wearing smelly clothes, are acting anti social and being generally weird and or creepy of course HS is gonna be rough, be a little more outgoing, try and have some fun, the times can be rough but if you have a good group of friends then it's all that much better. The only people who think these are the 'best years' of their lives are jocks and cheerleader types who end up flipping burgers for the rest of their lives.

i certainly hope not. my high school experience wasn't bad, but if that's the best i'm gonna get then ****
Well i'm still in HS and it okaybut i'd rather be somewhere else, I do have friends and played AFL for th local team but once I walk out in the middle of the court yard in school i feel really uncomfotable like some is going to come up to and start being a douche
This, except I graduated nearly 7 years ago and my life over the past 5 have changed drastically but for the good :DIn a way it was because I really had no responsibilities, no bills, etc. Just wish I hadnt been such a weirdo and nervous around girls in HS :(
But I enjoy my life more now because I am out on my own, doing my own thing and do not have to answer/rely on anyone...and ive only been out 3 years haha.

Nope. The high school social experience is very superficial compared to what you will encounter the rest of your life (usually and for the most part) and the school work itsef is monotonous and unintersting. The first semester of college for me has been better than anything in high school.
I had a great time in high school, and I look back on it fondly. But I would never go back. College is great, too. :) Honestly I think any time in your life can be the best time, if you have a good attitude about it and are being active in your life, doing things you love and surrounding yourself with people you love. Any time has the potential to be the best. :) I'm a firm believer that while you can't change your circumstances, how you react to them is your own decision. You are responsible for your own happiness. :)SkylinePigeonThat's a lot of smileys. :) That's a good way to look at life though, but it's kind of easier sid than done to act on it for most people.

I agree with Skyline HS was/is(currently a senior) the one of the best experiences of my life. HS is truly what you make it, and with the group of friends I've made along the way, HS has actually prepared me for the real world. Anyone who can't fondly look on their HS experiences and see the growth from a 9th grader to a HS graduate, didn't take full advantage of HS. I'm having plenty of fun and these SO FAR are definitely the best years of my life.[QUOTE="SkylinePigeon"]I had a great time in high school, and I look back on it fondly. But I would never go back. You're still young (as am I also) and will soon realise that you have a long way to go in life and will go through much more than high school. I think there are a lot more extreme points and learning experiences than in high school, such as college, work, or what ever unique adventures you're certain to go through. It's possible for HS to be the best years, but I really don't think it usually turns out that way.[QUOTE="SkylinePigeon"]I had a great time in high school, and I look back on it fondly. I don't know how to stop. :P Most things in life are easier said than done, aren't they? But your life is defined by the actions you take, and honestly, having done both, choosing to be happy is a lot easier on you than choosing to be miserable. :)[QUOTE="SkylinePigeon"]I had a great time in high school, and I look back on it fondly.
