[QUOTE="GazaAli"]The upside is that the MB was insanely thirsty for power, the things they are willing to offer in return are beyond the dreams of the U.S. I have experienced the MB for sometime now and you have no idea how different and unprecedented their psyches are. Actually its funny now that I think about it, you will never ever grasp half of it, its something quite unheard of.airshocker
Give me examples and stop being vague.
What exactly is the upside to the US supporting the MB? Just because the MB was thirsty for power doesn't mean it's in our favor to support them. In fact, that goes against every logical reason to support them.
Hamas is policing the borders with Israel like no one ever did. Abbas' government could never achieve this not because it did not want to but because there were things they just couldn't get themselves to do. After the recent truce between Israel and Hamas which was sponsored by Mursi, no one dares to disturb the borders. Just weeks ago a top Islamic Jihad militant was shot dead by Hamas for that reason. The MB is power thirsty to the point that its willing to do absolutely anything to maintain that power. The U.S is trying to exploit this since the MB knows that the U.S influences to such a great extent who remains in power in the Middle East. Mursi would have given them insane compromises, he just did not get the chance. The Egyptian army knew this which is why he acted. Hamas was preparing itself to take part of Sinai and declare a Palestinian state there along with Gaza strip, a move that would unimaginably served Israel, the U.S' greatest ally in the region. The MB has no respect or belonging to the state where they operate, they only acknowledge the movement itself. As long as the movement is prosperous and powerful, anything can be sacrificed or discarded.
