Well? Do you attend church on a somewhat regular basis? I don't mean every Sunday at 10am or something, but a time or two a month, volunteer and other stuff? I am Catholic and tend go to service every 2 weeks or so.
Its a very good church and its not one of the typical "feel good" churches, it has a heavy mission focus at home and across the globe and is only focused on discussion in small groups.
If it was one of those walk in Sunday morning listen to some guy repeat the same thing over and over, where most ppl go because of tradition or even social reasons..I would not go. Btw, I would not regularly go to most churches.

Twenty years of my life was devoted to the church (every sunday since I was born, Catholic School, being part of the service, etc) - now I only go during Christmas or if I'm with my family and I'm not driving.

I bet god is laughing at those people. It's not about points to get a ticket to heaven. It's about knowing the truth of God and life.
Nope, church doesn't like me for who I am and I don't like the church for what is is and stands for. I only go to church if there's a funeral and I really have to, out of respect for the dead. Other than that you won't ever see me in one again.
No, not anymore. I went to church at least once per week for eighteen years. I went as often as three times per week for several years. I've done my time; I'm not going back.
Not really, but since I go to an independent school that was founded by an Anglican, we're forced to go to one at the beginning of every term and for Christmas.
I don't understand. Don't get me wrong but are you saying that a certain amount of church attendances will remain for the rest of your life or did you just lose faith?

Mostly the latter. I was trying to temper the bitterness with a little humor. ;)
I haven't been to church in years. I don't think I could take it, anyway. It's just an enigmatic and (usually) misinformed man in front of a small crowd of (usually) pathetically misinformed individuals who are there to be more misinformed. The modern-day church is in the worst state of intellectual bankruptcy it's experienced since the Dark Ages.
My question to people who do go is, do you go because of your parents, because you think if you don't go your faith will suffer ( and your chances in heaven), or because you want to learn about god?
I've went about twice this year to the Catholic church, I like how they explain things mostly. But I don't feel that I HAVE to go to church. I try to be the best person I can to people and well I only go when I really feel like going.
