Do you believe in God?

Do you believe in God? I don't. I have seen the news and sometimes it's a new from Usa and it all about a girl that just nearly killed and her friend saved her and called to the police. When the interview the girl later she says " Thank god that I'm alive I couldn't be here today if it wasn't by Gods help. It was the gods will. I have been blessed!" When I heard that I thought this is wrong! Why didn't she said thanks to the friend who saved her! No one said thanks to her all people just said thank to God. It was the friend who saved her not God! If you have a friend who does that to you shouldn't you show how happy you are that you have that friend? If she saves you then you should say at least thanks toHER and not to God!

Internet forums are the WORST place to discuss these topics because of two main reason:

1) The age group which would be your audience (mainly teenagers)

2) Far too many people with far too many opinions all going on at one time, not allowing for individual discussion.

ok and Ill add a third. It creates enemies on forum boards. So I will save us the trouble and not go into explaining my statement which will also help NOT boost this stale/repetative thread more and more like im doing now.... :o

I have closed my mind to believe in one thing and one thing alone, yes. Because, that has worked for me better than anything in my life. When I wasn't with God, my life was horrible and pointless.

Didn't you all say its whatever YOU make your life to be? How am I any different than the person who choses to NOT believe in God? That seems like more of a close minded bold statement than to say that there even is a possibility of God.

It was closed-minded because you're saying that people who don't believe in God lead pointless lives, which isn't true.

It's cool if you believe in God, but don't go around saying that everyone else is wrong.

I think God exists. After all, something must have created this place, can't come out of nowhere.

Ok, so Sir Issac Newton, Joan of Arc, Michael Faraday, Charlotte Maison, George Washington, David Livingstone, etc led pointless lives because they believed in God?

Im sorry, I should have clarified. IMO, I believe to live MY life without GOD/JESUS would be a pointless life. Period.

But then again, i also believe everything is orchestrated through him so really, no life is pointless but part of his plan. So can I make a rebuttle? Forgive me gamespot forum members?:(

Trust me...i am far from arrogant. And, i dont believe I said ANYTHING that made me sound arrogant, but please, point it out so that I may correct it. No where was i boasting or claiming how great I am or how much better I am than anyone else. So I honestly don't know why you would use that word.

believe what you want, God existing is just as plausible as the theory that the Flying Spaghetti Monster created the universe, which is just as plausible as the theory that the earth is actually carried through space bya turtle. one religion/belief simply cannot be the right one, and blindly believing the bible/koran(sp?)/whatever doesnt make your belief tru. the moral of the story is, dont stuff your religion down other people's throuts, because your religion is just as likely to be wrong as the hundreds of others that exist. they all have one thing in common: no evidence to support the existence of *insert name of deity here*

I don't believe in god in the form of a being of some kind watching over all of us like she said.....but damnit something created this universe, and it wasn't science! All these laws of matter and energy didn't just spring into existence for no reason and say alright, let's made us a universe.
