Looks like that's your goal too.

I don't believe in god in the form of a being of some kind watching over all of us like she said.....but damnit something created this universe, and it wasn't science! All these laws of matter and energy didn't just spring into existence for no reason and say alright, let's made us a universe.

why not? doesnt the big bang sortof explain how everything started? does a divine "thing" always have to create everything?

That has got to have been the most polite reply to a religious thread ever.

No, the big bang says everything that's in the universe now was crushed into a tiny little speck which blew up and everything expanded. Okay, that works for me, but that speck didn't just appear suddenly. Why would it? Where did the speck come from? What came before it? Was it there for all eternity waiting to blow up?

I don't doubt the big bang happened, but matter can't just come out of nothingness. Something more is at work.

Because the friend whas just next to her when she thanked god in front of all. If whe did then she would say thanks in front of all to as she did to God.

And this was on camera, was it not? How do you know what happened after the camera was turned off? The girl believes that God gave her her friend, and her friend saved her life, so she is fully right in thanking God first.

Maybe she DOES know for sure that God lives.:| Seriously, why on earth does this bother you so much? She thanked God instead of her friend, fine. Who cares who she thanks? The point of the matter is that she's alive and well.

I think the point is if you're doing an on-camera Thank You, the person who actually did the saving should be thanked first.

No, it isn't ridiculous. Tell me, do you go on camera and thank the doctors that give you shots that prevent TB? After all, they saved your life. No? Well that's ridiculous. Why don't you thank them on camera? You ungrateful or something?

See how trivial this is? IT DOESNT MATTER IF SHE WAS THANKED ON CAMERA OR NOT.

Also, I would like a link or something to the story that the TC is speaking of, or I'm going to assume that it is fake and that this topic was made for the purpose of flame-bait.

When god comes up to me, smites me for not believing in him, then tells me to believe in him or i'll go to hell, then i'd believe.

Right now, i'd rather not make up my mind, i'll just be open to the concept of religion, and when all the fighting about whichreligion is right subsides, and one true religion is named, i'll step out of the shadows and claim to have believed in that religion all along.

Wow Silver - How many posts saying the same thing? No matter how many posts you make expressing the same point of view, it does not make it right.

Its not trivial - its insensitive, irrational and irritating that the friend did not get a public thank-you in front of the cameras. Your thoughts on the matter may be different, but you have to accept that other people also have a valid point of view no matter how much you rant.

To the OP - No, for me to believe in something takes more than dogma. The existence of god seems ever less likely as we use technology to communicate, research and discover alternative views to theism across the world's different cultures.

To the chap who said people that don't believe in god have meaningless lives. I'd say your original statement is arrogance encapsulated.

Yes, and God is there whether we believe in Him or not. A real persona, rather than an extention of our imagination.
