I know this is very conterversial, but I think one of the gamespot admins probably has removed my thread or similarto this around a year ago and I guess they didn't like it for some reason. But to be honest, I really believe in god and there is hope are there especially what's going around in this world in terms of how much atrocities going on. There is too much hate and violence, I think we need love and peace. I mean seriously, "Where Is The Love?" I don't seriously don't get why some of you here in gamespot don't believe in god because probably many of you are Agnostic/Athiest. But why do you guys honestly think there are other religions out there who practices their faith? But I think being a christian is one of the things that really helps define a person who they are especially being good. I mean even if you don't believe in god or not, but why don't you believe in god for troubled tunes like there's a reason for why don't you believe in god because no offense, your ignorant or something who probably ever got into a religion or something. But that's one of the reasons why we have good and evil. I mean who knows, we can die in our sleep believe it or not, or die the next day from a vehicle accident or something.

So do you believe in god or not? Why or why not?

Yes. But not the God portrayed in the Bible. I have attended Chruch 5 times in 17 years of life. I believe in Science first and fore most.

The way I see it God created Science.

"God" is a state of mind and being. Many different religions have different definitions but they are describe pretty much the same thing. Universal compassion.

Paragraphs? I really can't really read a massive block of text.

"why don't you believe in god for troubled tunes like there's a reason for why don't you believe in god because no offense, your ignorant or something who probably ever got into a religion or something."

HUH? How am I ignorant? I don't get this...

If you are Christian, why would you cry when a good person dies, don't they go to Heaven? Jealous much?

How can you call someone ignorant when you clearly fit the description? Being an atheist doesn't mean I don't have morals, they're just defined differently (LAWS), and also by personal opinions. I believe abortion is wrong but that is because I view it as a living person and they should be given a chance to live. Funerals, of course I feel sorrow, but I haven't been to one, so I haven't cried at one, but if a close person to me died I would.

Miserable life? Do bad things? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? Just because you're Christian or religious doesn't mean you won't do bad things, does it? I don't go around killing people and stealing things, and I'm very happy. I just don't have to talk to some imaginary person to feel better.

No, I'm not necessarily saying your ignorant. I mean what's wrong with a paragraph, to be honest that's not a lot of words to read it's pretty much straightforward words. But what's the reason for you not to believe god? Why is there hate and violence?

Lol, so you believe in nothing? Well you probably do a lot of bad things haven't you? I know how it feels like to have a miserable life. I mean your life can change completely if you do good things. I know many people who done bad things in the past and that's where the path of being good is like. So why do you think u exist in this world? Why do you think theirs funerals, and when you go to somebody in your family die you probably don't go to their funeral and wheep for their tears? [QUOTE="Wetall_basic"]Nope. Sorry? I don't have any kind of miserable life, mostly because I don't feel the need to worship an invisible man that randomly decided to create us for no partular reason. I don't do 'bad things' as you put it, of course,in your mind I'm sure that anything I do is bad, because it lacks the belifes you hold.

Why are there funerals? That has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with the loss of someone you love.

Atheist =/= evil

Funeral tears = sorrow for a loved one

funeral = celebration of one life, imo

I believe in God. He's up there somewhere, hanging out. Watching his kids, thinking "dude, I'm God." I think I'll make a difference in the world, so he does. I have no clue where that came from...it's 3am, and I'm kindo tired. I do believe in God though.

I mean having a religion and especially believing in the christian faith has done a lot to our world to influence people into the state of being good and compassionate for others. I know many people who tries to stay with the christian faith because it has been proven in the bible that it's been written there for over the past thousands of years. And yes, there is evil and good, but what makes you think theires satan and evil disturbing things that haunts us? We turn to our god for answers. We have a war to fight with, but people are dieing. Do we have faith for our people, like over millions of soldiers dieing, and I'm assuming their following the christian way.

Love is a human emotion. Those who are willing to embrace it can utilize it. Religion has nothing to do with feeling love and compassion towards others. It can help to inspire it but it isn't necessary.

I don't seriously don't get why some of you here in gamespot don't believe in god because probably many of you are Agnostic/Athiest.HyBridFuRy

What is there to get? Some people require more evidence in order to believe in an unprovable and unknowable metaphysical being.

But why do you guys honestly think there are other religions out there who practices their faith? But I think being a christian is one of the things that really helps define a person who they are especially being good.HyBridFuRy

Morals are completely subjective. Being a Christian doesn't make you a good person. Being kind makes you a good person. Kindness is a human trait. Being loving makes you a good person. Love is a human emotion. Being spiteful makes you a bad person. Spite is a human trait. Being hateful makes you a bad person. Hate is a human emotion. Nothing is "defined" by religion. Everything is defined by humanity.

no offense, your ignorant or something who probably ever got into a religion or something. But that's one of the reasons why we have good and evil. I mean who knows, we can die in our sleep believe it or not, or die the next day from a vehicle accident or something.HyBridFuRy

Calling someone ignorant for not believing what you do is a very ignorant statement in and of itself. Some people are content living their lives how they see fit, and they are fully entitled to do so... because they are humans, who define their existence how they see fit.

Me too, I'm with you man. I mean I don't sound as smart as I am but I don't get why people do a lot of bad things all the time and swearing and other sins. Sure, we sin and it's normal, but sins really have a big impact in our life and God still loves you for that. That's why we have confession and it's normal for people to sin because it's normal for people to do, but I still pray to god that those evil things will go away.

"Swearing" is defined by society, "You're hot and ****ing awesome!" is swearing, "I really don't like you, I don't like you at all" is not swearing, clearly, the statement with swearing is the polite one, actually.

No, I never said that I was implying that christians don't know the difference between life and wrong. Like what foxhound_fox person said, it's human instincts and emotions that defines a person knowing from right from wrong. You don't necessarily have to be christian to do the good things in our world. But like i said, I can't emphasize it enough that the Christian faith significantly influence our world in terms of being a good, compassionate, humbled person.

Nearly every major religion in the world has inspired compassion towards other beings. Christianity is NOT the "greatest" religion nor the "best" religion. It is just another world religion, just like all the rest of them. Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Islam, Judaism, Jainism, Confucianism, Baha'iism, Shamanism, Taoism, Neo-paganism, Rastafarianism, etc, etc, etc. No better and no worse.

It normally isn't people's faith that influences them to do bad things... it is usually ignorance and intolerance for people of other faiths/ethnicities/cIasses/etc.

Nope, honestly I don't know what way christianity influence our world in a bad way. I mean Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and he didn't do anything wrong or anything bad to change the world. He has helped many people and helped many peoples lives. So did many other martyrs who died for their cause believeing in their religion, especially christianity. I don't know any bad things that christianity has done any bad things in our world, especially g*y and abortion. I mean it's an individual choice for that in my opinion. But that's all I can pretty much have to say, because if you read the bible or something you'll learn from it.

I did read the Bible. I actually just finished Bible as Literature class last semester. I mean don't you think some of the people that run the religion are corrupt and unjust, even if they essence of the religion isn't?

Wow.....just wow - if you have such a belief in your religion, do yourself a favour and do some research on religion thru history and its impact.

I don't want you to lose what you seem to have gained from your beliefs but I think you need to be fully exposed to truths about religion not only the good but also the bad.

And your point is..? You believe in scientology or something? You think this is how the world started, the big bang theory?

Do I need to believe in anything? Maybe I'm just undecided. You seem awfully agressive.

Lol no, but thanks for pointing that out. I'm just in a hurry because I have a lot of things in mind, plus it's late as hell and I got school tomorrow so that's pretty much the reason. Yea i know my grammar kind of blows, but deal with it my friend, lol. This isn't english class or something. >.

I don't believe in God because I enjoy being evil and molesting children/beating the elderly etc. If I believed in God then I would have all these morals to stick to which would just totally ruin my evil lifestyle. I know that God is real but I just choose not to believe in him because I am a horrible person.

Lol, yea around there if I can recall this thread got deleted before because it was too old and nobody was posting on it within a year. Anyways, I'm done for tonight (technically morning) and good luck to you all and hope you do the christian ways in life. I know there's a god out there waiting for us when we all die from something we dont necessarily expect. My mind can't take further explanation into this topic because all I'm saying is that I believe in god and that's all. Well good night everyone. ^^
