this has already been done before, no need to do it again. oh and to answer the thread, I belive in God, but I use science tolearn aboutthe natural world. science is not a belief, it's knowledge, as of facts or principles; knowledge gained by systematic study as defined by dictionary.com

Science does not disprove God. Parts of the Bible are certainly innacurate, but the stories of the old testament was passed down verbally for generations before it was written down, what do you expect? Our version of the old testament could be like 300s version of the Battle of Thermopylae (as in both actually happened, neither are entirely accurate). God makes at least as much sense as the big bang (nothing existed, then an explosion that could not possibly have existed created everything. Great theory, huh?)

Both. They can tied together. The search for the truth applies science. So why not both?

Btw, I beieve in the here and now, until things are proven and disproven we only have so much basis to judge upon and believe.

And I believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster.:P

Hmm, let me think. Who's word should I trust? Primitive people from thousands of years ago, or a 21st century scientists with state-of-the-art technology? Hmm, I wonder.

Actually, EVIDENCE (or lack thereof, in this case) says God couldn't have used big bangs to create the universe.

What good does being a Scientist and having technology do if none of it actually helps make the theory? lt's certainly not based on scientific fact or anything gained from state of the art technology. l was not argueing that God's existence is in any way more likely, nor that you should believe it. lt simply has at least equal proof to the big bang (or any other as yet unproven theories). ln short, trust whatever the hell you want, you've about as much chance of being right as anyone else.

Lack of evidence isn't evidence :? What scientific evidence is there that some sort of god didn't create the big bang?

I don't believe in Science. I don't worship Science. I don't believe the Son of Science died for my sins. Don't you see how the very question is flawed?

The question you asked is:

Do you believe in the process by which knowledge is acquired through observations and experiments or in a magic man in the sky that grants wishes?

The question does not make sense. You can have both. But what's the reason to believe in the latter? Hard evidence is the reason to believe scientists. What is the reason to believe an ancient fairy-tale?
