What do you believe in that you dont have proof exists? For example, Aliens, God, Did Dinosaurs walk the earth with Humans, Is there Humans in another galaxy, etc.

I think Dinosaurs and Man have walked the earth at the same time, i have no proof ofcourse but i believe that, I believe there is some sort of "God" out there but i have no solid proof.

Stuff like how Pyramids were made back in the day with no real technology...i believe some sort of technology was available at the time that we never figured out til this day...but yea i have no proof....what about you OT?

No. I think that there is a chance of there being alien life on other planets due to the very large amounts of planets there are, but I don't strongly believe in anything without solid proof.

If the thing you propose has some logic or is not a wild statement, I will probably believe it or think is plausible.

I think you are describing "faith." At least that's what I call it. I believe in God, for example. A lot of people may ridicule you for believing something that you don't have tangible proof of, but don't let that discourage you, because typically they don't have proof to prove you wrong either. I'm not saying that we should believe something and be completely closed minded about everything/anything, but don't let others shake your faith.

And to steal a theme from a post of mine a little while back...... I believe the soul or concious exists after we die in some form (even if just as electric impulses that make the brain operate).......and I WILL see my Dogs and Cats in heaven :) As of yet, nobody has shaken my faith in that. :D

As someone above said, if there were no facts then I would at least need a theory that was plausible.

Same here. As long as its explained in a way that seems logical or at least possible I may give it a thought. I do believe in God, after all.

Because we have only explored a tiny portion of space so alien species could be found somewhere in the 99% of space which has not been explored. As for god there is no way to prove that god exists, and in most arguments I get into on the subject it will end with the religious person saying "you will find out when you die" which does not constitute as proof in my opinion.

Because there is no reason to believe in god. Life can be possible if there is a planet that has similar conditions to earth, there are billions of planets, its possible for atleast one of them to support life.

Some things.

I believe that there's probably Aliens in the Universe somewhere, and that belief is based solely on the incredible size of the place. I find it hard to believe that in a place so vast with billions of galaxies there is only one planet which can support life.

Sure there is a reason to believe in God, Some people feel better believing a God exists so they feel better throughout the days when things go bad, Some people want to also believe in a God because they might feel depressed if when they die nothing happens, no excitement etc after death

cee1gee

Well, here is I think one way that there actually could be humans in another galaxy. What if this evolution of ours isn't as random as we think it is? What if the way life evolved here is basically a template? First sludge/slime. Then little single celled creatures. Then some kind of fish-type-thing. Then Dinosaurs. Then (I'm reaching here) the Dinosaurs die off after millenia (a meteor has to hit at SOME POINT). Then the little creatures that survive turn into monkeys. Then cave men. Then people. What if that is a sort of template? I know it's a stretch, but I don't think that it is IMPOSSIBLE.

I believe in a entity who got bored one day , and made earth and stuff and he rested , and he made dirt , and from dirt he could made a make human , and after that that entity made a female for the male so he won't get bored.
After that he made some animals too so they can have fun , and after that they let the humans name teh animals just for the lulz .
And he also made a forbidden tree , and they told humans to not eat it because he will burn they're a** .
And UNEXPECTEDLY the humans eat stuff out of the tree ! Damn !
I forgot to say that a talking snake told them that , and that snake was the evil entity ! What a twist !
So that entity got mad , and he made humans mortal and then there was no lulz .
And now we skip to the part where humans made a huuuge towah so they can talk to teh entity .But the entity twisted they're tongue around and they can't understand each other , so the humans leaved D: and they only spoke with the ones that they understand .
And now we skip even more to the part where the entity sent his son on earth , to suicide . Why ? Because sending his son to suicide on earth will make the entity forgive humans for eating stuff from a tree which apparently the entity created for humans to eat it .
So the son died and he lived again after taking a nap , and he flew in the skies back to his father and he hugged him , for free .
So they had great lulz again in the SUPERNATURAL world , everyone was happy .
I forgot to say he also controlled a man to write a book , because he was stoned and he couldn't write the book himself , so when babies are born they could read what happened before and they would know everything actually took place .
And now we wait for his son to come again on earth and give us great lulz again , it's the present .

THE END

But don't take my word for it ! We are all right ! Even without proof or logic .

let me tell you something

I don't need proof for a lot things because it simply can't be proven. Those who think everything just came out of nowhere can be right but are probably wrong.

If you keep asking why at a certain point you will only have three options:

1. You will have to answer 'i don't know'

2. You will have to answer 'just because it is like that'

3. You will have to answer with a an answer that you've already given so 'you're going in circles'

So some things we just can't explain. If you also look at the stars and star systems and know something about their distances, the mass and size of the sun, then you will realize that everything is so big that you don't have a choice but to believe.

The nearest star is alpha centauri 4 light years away. 1 lightyear is 9 460 730 472 580.8 km or about 6 trillion miles ( 5 865 696 000 000 miles) (1 miles = 1.609344 kilometers). A rockets speed is about 30000 km/h (19000 mph) . So with using a standard space craft of today it would take (roughly calculated) about 22000 years to get there. You could accelerate beyond 30000 km/h but that would take more power and you would need that power to brake too.

Once you have a certain speed it doesn't matter you won't slow down (there is no friction in space that makes you slow down) . The power needed to get a lightspeed would be about all the atomic bombs we have in the world and we don't have power to slow down.... This is also not counting micro meteorites, space debree, asteroids and other obstacles , when you collide with a meteor at light speed... well you get the picture.

This is just the nearest star, the furthest galaxy is about 8 000 000 000 lightyears away (yes 8 billions).Till the day we invent warp drive or even something stronger and we can actually explore the galaxy and beyond and see what's out there, if there's an end to it or whatever we find or can explain, till that day i believe in god like a kid believes in santa claus.

The furthest galaxy and a lot of far off galaxy 's probably don't exist anymore also because we can still see the light that that galaxy and stars emitted but light travels at 300 000 000 km/s that means since it's so far away the light we see now , is light that started 8 billions years ago, those suns are probably all dead and at this moment , there is nothing left at that point in space and time.

So i gues time and distance are the same things, and we can't be on the same time on two different places or can we?

It's not something you can really believe in until you experience it. And you can try and explain it to others, but it never works. You just got to feel it. Anyways that's as far as my "beliefs" go; everything else needs rigorous proof and testing.

This can easly be proven. In paleontology older fossils are found deeper in rock and also by measuring the radioactive decay of elements in the fossils. Human/primate bones are found much closer to the surface then dinosaurs. Also, dinosaur fossils anr all rock because over time the calcium was replaced by mud that turned into rock. Compaired to human fossils there are still traces of calcium since they are much younger. And lastly if humans did live alongside dinosaurs there would be evidence like human bones being dug up alongside dinosaur bones.

To the subject I need evidence to accept something, because otherwise what good is it if it has no support backing it up?

I like that theory...Maybe there is an exact planet like ours with water and animals.. could be possible

Have you ever seen Mars terraformed? Here's a picture

there are certainly planets like ours there are just too many stars, there are billions of stars in our galaxy, there are billions of galaxy, and a there are billions of clusters (which exists out of biliions of galaxy's). The only question is will we ever get there and even bigger will something still be there when we get there.

Till the day we invent warp drive or even something stronger and we can actually explore the galaxy and beyond and see what's out there, if there's an end to it or whatever we find or can explain, till that day i believe in god like a kid believes in santa claus.evildead6789
I apologize if I'm a little dense, but I'm not sure if you are being sarchastic or not. (Not being a wiseguy, I'm really not sure)

I certainly can't argue with your logic. The only thing I would say, just to be devil's advocate, is I've heard that the older the object being dated, the less reliable the results. Again, this isn't my field of expertise. Also, one COULD argue that just because we haven't found any fossils proving this point, that doesn't mean that they either aren't out there, or they were destroyed by the sands of time. About every two years or so I read about a new species of dinosaur fossil that gets uncovered. I'm not picking an arguement with you, believe me. I'm just saying that a lot of things are POSSIBLE, even if we don't have the hard evidence. Whether it's science or religion.......... it's never about answers, just about better questions. :)
