I don't believe that love is some mystical force. I believe that love is a combination of feelings like affection, loyalty, friendship, lust, etc, etc. I think you could fall in love with pretty much anyone if you were disposed toward one another, and you both wanted to make it work. Super long term relationships take work and dedication, true love is sticking with someone for 50 years and not being sick at the sight of them.
Basically you make what you make of it. In a way love is a self-fulfilling prophecy if you both love each other and want it to last.
I believe that it is possible to have a bond with another being so strong that it may be known to some as 'true love'. But if you ask me whether I believe in the metaphysical spiritual connection, then no. I challenge any person to prove that it does exist.
There's not such thing as "the one". That's just a stupid notion people came up with over the years out of stupid spiritual ideas....If you find someone you really like and feel are more attracted to than anyone else, chances are there are hundreds more in the world who fit your liking and you just haven't met them, and you'd think they were your soul mates if you met them and you'd think the same thing.
So yeah, stupid idea. Lets conclude this already.
Everything wanes through time, that's why I think the concept of "true love" to be dangerous. I mean, take my parents for example... they've been married forever, but the romance is long gone. I'd rather have that flame to be continously lit with multiple partners spanning my entire lifeline then to have it doused with just one. That actually seems to be the case with most society come to think of it.
