Lucky coins, lucky rabbits feet, lucky cat...
Same goes for bad luck...
Do you believe in it?
I really don't...But one thing I do believe in is Lucky Charms. The cereal, of course.

There is something in this world we experience, that we call luck. Therefor it exists.
Well that's my way of living and my point of view.
Same with free will.

Luck is the devil.

No, Bobby! Girls are the devil.
School is the devil, its designed to pollute our childrens minds with the devil.and yes girls are the devil.
I believe we are wired to look for patterns and thus ascribe cause, even when none exists; when a series of seemingly improbably events happen, it's easy to call it luck. So I don't believe that it exists objectively.xaos
I'd agree with this.
Though, I do believe in jammy bastards.

I've always said the key to becoming better at anything in life is murder.I upped my luck in Fallout 3, it seemed to work.

I'm just curious: Does that mean that you don't believe in "free will"? (I think the term doesn't even make any real sense in the way it's generally used.)Luck, no. Fate, yes....

I kind of do, kind of don't. I've more just accepted it. Like, if something goes well I say "Well that was lucky!". I like the idea of having lucky trinkets though, and have a small collection of "lucky" things - but when I think about it, I think they're just more of a comfort than they are lucky.
[QUOTE="mindstorm"]I'm just curious: Does that mean that you don't believe in "free will"? (I think the term doesn't even make any real sense in the way it's generally used.) I believe that free will exists but one's free will cannot act against his nature. The two natures are the sinful nature of stone and the redeemed nature of flesh. The only way a nature can be changed is through the Holy Spirit's power. Also through conviction and circumstances God has the power to influence our decisions.Luck, no. Fate, yes....

Luck is not real. Everything is just based on peoples actions. I shoot your boyfriend or something, you get angry, shoot me. Cause and effect, see. There is no luck involved. If you don't do something it won't happen, if you try it prepared you might actually succeed. Car accident? Someone made an error. Even if it's not your fault someone else made a mistake and you aren't in control of it, but it's not based on luck why that happened. It was because of your inability to avoid it, you didn't see it coming from a mile. WhiteSnake5000you're completely and utterly wrong, Luck is real in Fallout 3

you're completely and utterly wrong, Luck is real in Fallout 3 Considering they all live in a post-apocalyptic nuclear nightmare, I would say not only is it real, but it is also bad...[QUOTE="WhiteSnake5000"]Luck is not real. Lucky charms, can't make you more lucky. But they might have a placebo effect, the slight increase in self confidence when holding onto a lucky charm could lead to success, and that could be mistaken for the works of the real "luck-enhancing" powers.Hungry_bunnyI call into question your objectivity. After all, you would certainly want to downplay any benefits of rabbit's feet. :P
I believe the harder you work the luckier you get.Dub_c6969I've known people who spent years working two full-time jobs just to make ends meet, and with that kind of schedule it's not like they really have time to learn much of anything else. I generally don't consider said people to be lucky.
