I've known people who spent years working two full-time jobs just to make ends meet, and with that kind of schedule it's not like they really have time to learn much of anything else. I generally don't consider said people to be lucky. Work smarter, not harder![QUOTE="Dub_c6969"]I believe the harder you work the luckier you get.SpaceMoose
ok people this is why luck is real, there was a chance i could have gotten hit by a car today, but with the grace of god and luck the car stopped. and in that moment i was rebirthtized and i am now a faithful christian, and only with the power of christianity can you achieve true luck

No. Luck is completely relative. When something goes your way, its "good" luck. When it doesn't, its "bad" luck. All this proves is that life is not always fair.
and if I believed in the supernatural and was being intellectually honest, then I would have to believe in God.MetalGear_NintyWhy? I don't see how the existence of the supernatural would necessitate the existence of God.
Well, first off I don't believe in the good luck of a rabbits foot, because it obviously didn't work for the rabbit.
Now, I believe luck exists as a term used to describe a random but seemingly coincidental event or a pattern of events, but I'm not superstitious in the slightest.
[QUOTE="MetalGear_Ninty"]and if I believed in the supernatural and was being intellectually honest, then I would have to believe in God.Funky_LlamaWhy? I don't see how the existence of the supernatural would necessitate the existence of God. It would. If the supernatural exists, then that would neccesitate and explanation of where the supernatural came from, by definition, this can not be a result of natural means, thus it can only have a supernatural origin. By definition, a supernatural origin is God.

I mean, why couldn't the supernatural 'just exist'?
I don't belive in lucky charms. But I do belive that some people have some kind of divine protection. My roomate is that type of guy. In test questions he scores ultra high, even if he wasn't reading the books at all. Moreover he wins lottery on a weekly basis.

I just see luck as an ironic occurrence (nothing supernatural) that some people see as some predetermined fortune.
