Not really, but I'm not even sold on evolution itself. Humans took a very strange path on the evolutionary process, where we got smarter but less able to cope with the enviroment we lived it rather than adapted to it like other animals. Has any other animal gone down this path?

shaunk89

Actually being smarter makes us MORE able to cope than other species. Example: "Oh crap, it's cold! What to do? I know, I shall invent fire! Now I haz the warm." Meanwhile, the mammoth become extinct. Take that natural selection. The path of our evolution has allowed us, to some extent, to subvert the normal order of things by making mental rather than physical ability a defining characeristic.

I agree what I find odd is no other animal has gone down this path, that's the only issue I have with evolution.

Actually it's a theory.

No the overall idea is a scientific theory, but there is no dispute what so ever in the science community that evolution happened.. We see it on a daily basis, and have trillions examples for evidence that proves it..

Facts probably don't exist or atleast probably cannot be established.

How can i vote in the poll when the correct answer is not present? We did not evolve from apes we share a common ancestor.

No, becoz there's no way a hairy beast can shed all those fur. A beast will always be a beast.

these, humans aren't evolved from apes. we have a common ancestor from which we both took different evolutionary paths

Both us and apes evolved from a common ancestor, not we evolved from apes. There's a big difference.

No, I don't "believe" we did. Based on the evidence in support of the idea, I "know" it is true.

EDIT: The problem of the OP, is that it isn't specific as to what type of "ape," since humans are technically also considered "apes" that share a common ancestry with all the other modern "great ape" species.

Humans are apes. o_o

We're not the same as the apes we see in zoos, of course, but we shared a common ancestor with them at some point in time.

Rofl, l2researchbeforemakingatopiclikethis. Human's descended (evolved) from another species, but that species was NOT the ape species. it was another homo species, well actually multiple homo species over a long tree, so it isnt just one species.

Espada12

No because every other animal hasn't depended mostly on tools to defend themselves, which then lead to bipedalism, which then lead to loss of body hair, which occured at the same time as brain enlargement.

And just to be more clear, we did evolve from apes. We didn't evolve from modern apes but yes, we did infact evolve from a member of the great apes.

I believe humans evolved, but not from an ape.

As said before, from a common ancestor.

Seems more pausible that we're a mutated/evoluted and more intelligent type of ape then that a almight entity made human males first and then women from one of the male's ribs.

I change my earlier response in this thread.

Humans did not evolve from "an ape", because we are not an asexually reproductive species.

yeah. Nothing evolves from 'an' anything. Everything in a group evolves at the same time through generations due to gene mixing.

Actually, its a few billion $'s concrete. The entire modern medical industry is based of the work of modern geneticists and biologists. If the science wasn't "right," we wouldn't be able to treat tons of different diseases and other issues.

The only thing that can be "100% concrete" is mathematics.

Comon I obviously dont mean an ape in the sense you are talking.:|

What is obvious to you may not necessarily be obvious to another person. :|

Wording can be a very important thing indeed.
