Something I've been pondering lately. I don't necessarily mean the cliche sense of being able to talk to the dead or see them or what not, but just another sense in general.

I believe it's definitely likely, it's just impossible for us to perceive it as we've not got the necessary components to do so. I think of it like this. Imagine if there was a planet where every living creature evolved to have no eyes, possibly due to all life on said planet living in the shade of a crater, or even underground. Let's also imagine that one of these creatures evolved to a high level of intelligence similar to our own. Would they at all be able the theorize the possibility of sight without the instrument required to perceive it?

Common sense is one sense that I used to believe existed but I am often proven wrong.

You mean, aside from the 5 that everyone knows?

There's balance for 6, I think another one that's been confirmed is called 'prioproception' or something along those lines. It means that when you close your eyes, you still know where all of your body parts are in relation to your hand.

That could very well be the case in the future however. We were more than likely just given the senses required to live on this planet. There could be plenty of ones we missed out that evolution didn't deem necessary for life on Earth.

I don't "believe" there are other senses.

I know so.

Sometimes i listen to the sounds of spirits/demons/other planes of existence.

Yes, a subconscious intuition that animals are keener on than us. It is a "lower" brain function that was superseded when early hominids' brains started expanding. I have been noticing it more as I get older, and recognize it as something I experienced more as a child. I'm not going to suggest any implications it might have, because for a subconscious "feeling" it would be hard to substantiate. Though, I wouldn't place it in any kind of "special power" category, merely a sense about what might happen in the very near future, or sensing an emotional feeling of someone not in the same room which one has a strong emotional connection with. Cats and dogs tend to showcase changes in behavior when a mood of their owner changes. My cat for instance comes to comfort me when I am upset, even when I show no outward signs of it.

A lot of scientific practises get shunned by society and thus don't receive the funding to forward on in their investigations.

Sense of sex. I mean... you can sense who you want to have sex with. Your body realizes that sex would feel good with someone who is good looking and has big breasts. This sense is often ignored for some reason.

Other than the five basic senses there technically isn't. The sense that is often misconstrued is "touch/feeling" which can be compiled into a larger category of similar senses (such as balance or temperature) called somatosensory.

I think everyone has sensed that something bad was going to happen before it did or that a situation was dangerous without any obvious signs of danger.

I think there probably are other senses that we as humans (except for very rare cases) cannot comprehend or perceive. It doesn' t mean they don' t exist though.

There is no question of "belief". Indeed there are over twice the number of senses you may be taught about in primary school. I am too tired to list them, but google it!

Yes, I believe we have dormant abilities. Other than the 5 we know of there is also the 6th sense (intuition), but people barely trust in it and almost always rely on an outside source to authenticate their reality. Its been said that we also have PSI abilities, but these abilities require a certain sense/level of self awareness in order to be activated, if we are only using a small portion of our brains I suspect the rest is waiting for the individual to become accountable enough to tap into it. As the saying goes "with great power comes great responsibility". -- Throughout history people have mentioned observing people with special talents, and the areas where these talents are the most prevalent seem to be in places surrounded by high spiritual energies. Some Shamans and monks are said to master moving things with their minds, levitate, and perform healings. Mythology is tightly wrapped around the mysteries of magic and the power of the mind. Jesus was said to be a regular man, but was a very liable person in which he was able to use God powers because he simply acted (Godly). Plus, some ancient drawings on the walls of caves/temples/pyramids seem to exhibit humanoids using sorcery, staffs/wands, and rituals. - In any case, I doubt most humans today are ready to handle such gifts. Theres just too much animosity and blind hatred in the world today, if we all were using powers, or were able to use extra senses we would have killed each other off by now. The fact that many of us lack self love and prefer to be followers is a clear sign of giving away your power. We often refuse to use even the slightest bit of our own uniqueness, and prefer to be a disempowered slave whose main desire in life is to just fit in, unknowingly afraid to be something more. The conditioning of the latest version of humans has been immense. So much so, that the majority will debate their own ability into improbability, even when they know deep down the universe is infinite in creation and thought, and that nothing is impossible.

I think some people are slightly misunderstanding my question. I don't necessarily mean a secondary sense (if you could call it that) such as emotion, electromagnetic sensory or intelligence, but another primary sense in general. We can hear, feel, smell, taste and see things, but do you think there are other (primary) senses as significant as them that we can't possibly even begin to comprehend the existence of as nothing on Earth has ever acquired it?

I believe we are influenced by changes in weather, atmospherical pressure and eletromagnetic fields in ways which we can't perceive the cause, but the consequence. We aren't in tune to them as other animals are (such as birds to the planet's eletromagnetic field and of certain animals to climate changes), since our primary sense is vision, but we are connected and feel the consequences of their changes regardless.
