My stuff is ridiculously expensive and some of it is custom made to order. But you can't go cheap when it comes to alternative, real metal, real spikes, and so many chains you walk like the ghost of Marley.

TristanShand

Those pants are kick ***, but I'm sure I wouldn't go anywhere near them once I'm shown the price tag. :P

If you're buying $500 jeans, I think it's almost a verifiable fact that you're quite simply not getting what you're paying for. The biggest determinant of whether or not something more expensive is a good buy is whether the extra money it costs provides an extra amount of benefit.

Infinite-Zr0

"To some people all they see is an expensive price tag for a useless piece of fabrique"

Well, then tell me, what does one get out of a pair of $500 jeans that one does not get from a cheaper pair?

(other than a lighter wallet and the knowledge that you just bought a $500 pair of jeans, that is)

A state of mind.

No, that's an illusion a price tag put in your mind.

I'm picky when it comes to jeans. If I like what I try and it's expensive, I'll buy it especially since my clothes last me quite a long time. For shoes, I try to find the cheapest priced converse I can find. Why pay extra for a brand just because of where it's being sold at?

I'm actually against expensevie clothes, all I wear are band t-shirts and any pair of black jeans that fits, that's pretty much my entire wardrove, and I rarely spend more than $10 on shirts and $20 on pants.black_cat19

you seem like someone who is against any kind of conformity.. being different for the sake of being different. Argh... everybody cares about clothes, but not me because I'm a non-conformist. I'd say so considering I've never heard of any of your "top ten bands" in your signature.

I buy really cheap shirts and jeans. If they're more than 20 bucks I'll probably pass lol. As I said in the other thread, I'm more than willing to spend a lot more on hockey related stuff though lol.

Not really, a lot of things we do or buy is for out state of mind.

Why would someone buy a Corvette over a Civic? More than likley so they can drive fast, or have a good looking car. That would be for a state of mind. I somehow doubt it's so the owner can save 5 seconds when buying diapers for his newborn baby.

Which isn't exactly a good thing. If someone buys $500 jeans because that person thinks they're cool because they bought $500 jeans, that means that person probably needs something more fulfilling in life.

Not really... Way to read a book by it's cover.

I'm against expensive clothes because I think it's stupid to spend so much money on clothes, as long as I'm comfortable wearing them who cares, all clothes do exactly the same thing, no matter if they're expensive or not, it's not like you're getting added features or more functionality out of those $500 jeans you just bought, they're still just clothes. And if you've never heard any of the bands in my sig, it's either because you only listen to the mainstream or you listen to other genres, many of the bands in my sig are very well known to metalheads, it's not like they're a secret or anything, and I like them better than the mainstream simply because I think they have better musicians who make better music, why is that so wrong?

I wouldn't think I'm cool because I bought $500 pair of jeans. Do you think people walk around and say 'Hey, My jeans cost $500? And not all fasion conscious jeans don't cost $500.

They don't and anyone who would is outside of the demographic I'm talking about.

Like I said, people are willing to spend more on something that others would find ridiculous

Is it wrong for someone to spend $5000 on a computer, to buy a $250,000 car, a $10,000,000 house, a $5000 HDTV. The list is endless. Cloths is just the same. We don't need any of these things, but we buy things according to our passions.

You guys are lucky, in the US (branded) clothes are ridiculously cheap. Here in Europe (I live in The Netherlands) regular jeans (G-Star / Replay / Diesel / Chasin / Levi's / Forecast) for example cost EUR. 70,- - 150,- (= $100,- - $220,-). And then you don't even have something special. check http://www.score.nl/ for pricing.

I don't like spending a lot of money on clothes, but they're super comfortable and they look really nice. I have a bunch of band tees ATM but I'm trying to switch my style to something that looks better and is more "fashionable."

I have a $15 shirt on ATM, and a reasonably comfortable $15 pair of cargo shorts.

Yeah I do, especially my jeans, some are cost well over $300, damn Ksubi their so bloody expensive but yet so nice  But not all of them are expensive though sometimes I still wear $10-$20 worth of attire and I still got complimented for it, it just matter of how you can miss and match it, and what look you suited to really. And trust me most critics are reliable as most of them are design student or already in the indusrty themself.

$300 jeans is a bit too much even for me, it's not worth it for what you get. Sometimes they got a nice custom pattern and a careful mixture of colours on them which makes them stand well out of normal Joe Avarage jeans, but I've seen custom jeans that can do just as good a job for much, much less. Looking online I can see that some jeans reaching as high as $500 and they're just a boring pair of bland blue assed jeans! No way, if I pay that much for some trousers, I want them to be jet black, with pure red rubies etched along the side, going all the way down from the hip to ankle. Then sprinkle a few more below the pockets and slap a cool logo on the back right. Now were talking!

Everything of mine (except T-shirts) cost about $75 (using the british pounds to dollars converter). Ok i'm being hipcritical, i've got one which cost me $302 which is the most i've ever paid, but that's custom made from black denim with well placed silver studs, and a full silver chain linking through small silver skulls, going from side pocket to back pocket. That's the kind of thing i'll expect for that type of money... I know my personal taste is not for everyone but you should be getting something equivalent.

In the UK i think the cheapest you can get resnoble pants is $40, good tshirts cost about $40+ aswell and nice shoes are minimum $60 for canvas and $90 for leather.

I'm much rather buy one really nice pair of pants than waste my money at primark on 10 pairs that'll be destroyed in a few months, i like my stuff to last. The only thing that i wouldn't spend more on per item i had the cash are shoes coz they're either formal or terrible trainers when you look above the $120 point.

Well someone just made a thread on how much you've spent on clothes at one time, and I was surprised at how many people buy ridiculously priced crap. I buy cheap Khol's clothes, and the fun part is that I get compliments all time on my $20 pants. musicaz70

Yeah, its true. The most I am willing to spend on a piece of clothing is 50 Euro. And that in itself is alot for one piece of clothing. I buy casual, comfortable clothing, not like those chavs who wear pyjamas, mind you, just stuff like Jeans, simple T-Shirts, etc.

I hate people who go all out on clothing. I'm quite utilitarian about it.

I rarely buy expensive clothes, I do not see the point in them really.

I don't buy pricey clothes. I like to keep my shirts under 20 dollars but still looking good. And I like sales on pants so I don't spend that much. This way, I can buy alot of clothes without spending too much money.

About £40 for a pair of jeans and £20 for a shirt, usually.

I usually buy pretty cheap clothes. My most expensive pair of jeans cost 8 pounds (about 15 dollars).

I spend roughly $15-$25 on band shirts, $25-$30 on pants and $50-$60 on shoes. So no I don't buy expensive clothes.

except for underwear and socks, i buy about 3-5 pieces of clothing each year. never been a shopaholic, but when i buy clothes, i usually buy way to expensive stuff. then again, i rarely buy, so guess my budget is pretty low compared to most others
