[QUOTE="sonicare"]Just by telling everyone you are a lady, you have an immediate boost to your rep on this forum.BiancaDKWhat are your thoughts on that? Who's, mine? Complete tosh.
zomg...a woman. Let me put you on this here pedestal and praise you!sandlot76Yeah well trust me this pedestal ain't high enough to stop people being able to spit at us.
It is, isn't it?BiancaDKUtterly.
you haven't seen the pedestal I have set for you babysandlot76:lol: Well I'm ready and waiting.
Did you know it would be like this, before you joined Gamespot: OT?BiancaDKOf course I did, I spent several years lurking before joining, watching Sajedene.

Watch out, she's got google alert set on that screen name. (;
Why do you dislike the idea of women/girls being treated differently/valued higher on here, as opposed to boys/men?
[QUOTE="FragStains"]Intensely. And I am not being sarcastic. At all.Baconbits2004
Holy **** you're posting on OT...
Shhh. Don't tell. It will ruin my reputation.I mean, do you really care what other OTers think about you?
Me? Not entirely. Most of the garbage that I type from this keyboard is intententionally asinine in nature. No, that doesn't mean I am constantly trolling...it means that I'm an idiot.22Toothpicks
I care about opinions from people who have helped my family.
I care about the opinions of friends that I've helped, and who have helped me.
Do I care about the opinion of a teenager or college student I've never met, who gets their news from the Comedy Channel??
Not so much,.
I'm sure she'll be very happy to hear from me again, assuming the court order's not still standing. I don't dislike the idea per se, but I don't think there's as much truth to it as people claim there is, people are far more likely to dismiss us for being female or assume that we're G.I.R.L.s imo. You know how it is.Watch out, she's got google alert set on that screen name. (;

I love the ones that think we're grrrrrls and have a problem with life and men
Well, yes, actually. You've outed me.
FragStains
Well.... this wasn't very excited.
I'll be going back to TDH now, no point letting Jand take over the forum completely...
Shhh. Don't tell. It will ruin my reputation.FragStainsYou are only doing it cus TDH was down.
Don't worry, I'm totally posting here only to sport my new sig, which you should totally check out. ^u^

You know how it rolls. When you're the only game in town, people are going to adore you. MissLibrarian
Yeah, I do. (:
But when the female user does get her positive recognition, I mean, when all the preconceived notions about what it's like to be a female user on a male dominant forum comes true; boy oh boy does she get her recognition, and then some.
I think it's a select few examples of clear differences between how the sexes are treated on-line, that substanties the popularity of the myth. People tend to remember and reference the loud minority over the silent majority I guess.

I didn't know you had dignity in the first place. You learn to not care. the people on here who know you're female will treat you normally, the ones who say you're a guy posting as a female you just need to ignore...either they are just being ignorant or trying to push your buttons. I love the ones that think we're grrrrrls and have a problem with life and mensandlot76For sure. I learnt many forums ago not to care, my attitude in this and all things regarding my 'e-reputation' is take it or leave it, people can think what they want. I don't come across many of the latter type though sadly :( Regardless I still opted by choice to be 'openly' female re: my username, but mostly so the other girls would know, and because most of the stuff I say would probably be quite abstract if people assumed I was male. I'd still roll with such a username if I were starting over probably.

And one would think that people would be able to tell female/male by posts, things said, etc, but I guess some choose to not see it or not care or just give grief :) It's nice to see a regular female poster >_>
ROFL...no. I have been up for nicest user in OTcars. I have had people ask me to come to Houston to fight them I have had people threaten to knife me ...all of these varying 'reputations'/opinions of me have been quite humorous.rawsavonRaw, lets meet up in Houston and fight.
But isnt that the way with everything? The loud minority always seems to be the one people remember and associate with any group.sonicare
It is, yeah. Looking beyond the loud minority, maybe there's no substance to it at all really, except for a self-fulfilling prophecy. Predicting the female user will get an inproportionate amount of attention, and by making that prediction and following up on it by observation, noting whenever it does happen, we fulfil the criterias of the prophecy, and that's that really.
I didn't know you had dignity in the first place.parkurtommo
Why so advertising ?Well, I figured my shamelessness would blend in quite well with all the omglookatmeimagirl going on ITT anyway. ;OBaconbits2004

Yeah, I do. (:

BiancaDK
Well yeah she sure does *cough*coco*cough*.
I think in general such a performance from such an individual is hard to keep up due to the nature of it though, people are quickly through with the flighty 'zomg girl' phase (aside from the odd few late-to-the-epiphany noobs I guess), and if you've nothing more substantial to project except being a hot girl who likes games then interest tends to wane from what I've seen.
I realise I'm flattering myself to some extent there by implying that I have anything substantial to say as we know is often not the case, but eh, I do alright here friendship-wise so. My point is I think any user has to be more than just one thing to achieve longevity without excessive monotony.
And yes, like many myths, it probably stems from poor yet loud examples.
I'd have thought you'd have liked some regular interaction with actual girls Jen?I already explained that's why I'm here. U_U And I didn't mean you. Just missL and sandlot. ;s

Anyway, besides that, it's OK to not get the joke when you don't know it's going on x
K.Oh okay. Be more specific next time, you know I always assume the world is about me. ;s

There is actually something for you, on tdh though.
