Take it from me. Just because your not book smart does not mean your not smart. I'm sure you can do and learn other things that people can't. Today's society places intelligence with school. When in actuality there are too many forms of intelligence to gauge how smart a person really is.No. Everything I put my mind to, no matter how hard I try, I fail at. I don't know if this is due to ADD or something else, but I suspect it's due to a lack of intelligence. I simply am unable to focus for any extended period of time. I failed Algebra three times in a row. In a row. How incredibly stupid do you have to be to do that?
I suspect myself to be on the lower spectrum of average intelligence, if that. I once scored a 125 on an IQ test....I don't know how that ranks though, and even if it's semi-decent, I can't seem to apply it no matter how I try. And in my view, being able to apply intelligence is what defines it. So I'm S.O.L.

1. Some days I feel smart, and other days I feel dumb as shit. I don't like answering questions like this because a lot of it has to do with what I study and the people I'm around, so I don't think I'm in a proper position to gauge myself. But all I really care about is being smart enough to accomplish my goals in life, and so far I think I'm doing just fine.
2. Yes. I enjoy what I'm studying and I've been reading ahead over the summer to prepare for my courses for the next semester. I'm especially excited because my professors are supposed to be some of the best in the department.
In the town I grew up in, I would definitely say I was in the top 20% in terms of intelligence.
But seeing as I have sinced move to the Pacific NW, I am maybe a little above average intelligence for this area.
On Gamespot? I have no idea. Sometimes I think that I may perceive myself to be less intelligent than everyone else because the intelligent people on this forum are just that damn smart. But yeah, as someone else has said, I think I am smart enough.
:P
Smart enough for my chosen career. And yes, I do look forwards to more learning and growing. I don't do as much leisure reading as I should, but I have to keep up to date on teaching methods and some of the current news of my scientific discipline.
I think I'll just refer to a quote from Plato:
"Wise men speak because they have something to say; fools because they have to say something."Allicrombie
Anyway enough of my ranting. Do you consider yourself smart and intelligent?r-teest
Do you actually look forward to studying and learning?
Yes, thanks to a bunch of great teachers and professors and whole lot of reading for pleasure when I was a child. But there's nothing like your first year working when you get out of college to make you realize how little you really know, and how many people out there who are smarter than you there really are.
I try not to think about it or compare my intelligence to others. Recipe for being a douchebag.
Though im fairly certain im not dumb.

Very true, and that's something I've heard quite a bit. For example, when people say college is only for gauging someone's learning ability, rather than actually "knowing it all" out of college. You learn at the job more so than school.
This is for everyone that said yes. There's another way, besides being smart.

I´m considering it already. Being smart about some things has brought me some problems I could've avoided in the past... for real
Edit: link worked well

Now that you've gotten that off your chest, why don't f*ck off since you clearly aren't fond of "most of you people"?

I think I am average, but have been told by lots of different people that I am smart.AmazonTreeBoa
A pretty large number of people are, though.
Smart enough to get by without putting too much effort into studying (at least for the classes I've been involved in), but other than that, no.
I kind of know about it. cleverness makes us lazy. I see it both a bless and a curse. My memory is pretty much nonexistant, Im a step away from alzheimer, rofl, not true but its really bad, so most things I learn to do them when I do them. So, if some time passes when I last did any said activity that I learnt, I have to relearn the next time I do it sometimes on the move since I dont recall in reality how that was actuallly done.I think i'm quite the genius to be honest. The thing is i'm lazy and my cleverness can't help me if i don't want to do anything. I learned that the hard way...

I'm an avid learner, but only in topics that interest me. I consider myself intelligent.

Would you give yourself the pianist award? :P
They still do that?
I believe so, though I didn't pay much attention to the last OTcars.
