Wow...only 20/25? I don't do push ups..only if I'm not going to the gym regularly. When I do pushups I do 100-150 a day.

Not daily, I'd say once every 3 days :P and I usually do 30 in one go, maybe ~100 total if I'm in the mood, I'm only capable of doing 30 in one go :? you'd think I'd improve over time but I just fall when I hit 30

Oh man. Normally, no. Because I do landscaping which is plenty workout for a day...But if I'm not working, then I normally spend some time lifting weights and doing push-ups/sit-ups.

I try and do 50 every go...sometimes i only do 30-40..i used to do sit-ups too..but i'm too lazy for that now..

I've probably done about 3 or 4 in my life. I'm not overweight or anything, I just never can be bothered to do exercise :lol:

I don't think so. You can do push ups every day.. unless you're doing an insane amount of push ups(1000+) or adding extra weight to them.. there is really no reason to do it every other day. It's such a basic work out that it's actually probably better you do them every day.. IT's not the same as free weight training. I do push ups every day seperated from my time spent at the gym lifting free weights. And it really doesn't prevent my muscles from growing or becoming stronger. It's actually good to do light strength exercises for muscle groups you all ready worked the day before. You won't over work your muscles.

  1. no. there are mcuh better things you can do besides push ups like actual weight lifting but, if you dont have access to the gym sure y not. If im really not in the mood for the gym i usually punish myself by playing killzone and at the end of the match I do ten push ups for each death i got for 4 matches straight lol I usually die about 10 per match

20-25 a day isn't gonna get you anywhere, that's really a joke. I usually lift, but when I do pushups I normally do 50-100 at a time, and usually do 5 or 6 of those per day.

I have stretches were I'm very good about working out and stretches were I pretty much never work out. When I'm good I try to crank out 50 a day. I really prefer lifting Iron in the gym though.

@ PCFrak - ahh, that explains it then. I did Martial Arts a bunch years ago (prolly from age 13 to 17) on average 5 days a week, about 75 push-ups per class. I stopped because the dojo just wasn't for me anymore, and started doing the gym thing. it's been 3 years since I stopped Martial Arts, and even though I've kept in relatively good shape, but doing push-ups now hurts right in the ball-socket joint of my shoulder, has nothing to do with flabby pecs.

I wish I would be able to find the time/motivation. But I'm actually really good at push ups so if anything I need to focus on sit ups.

It is kinda hard to keep up doing them daily. It is not the fact that they are hard to do it is just the fact that I just stop doing them for some reason.

I use to do 40 pushups every 2 hours every other day when I was in the military, but now I havent done even one pushup I will probably start again someday.
