Do you eat food that you drop on the floor? Do you go by the 5-second rule? I eat some stuff I drop as long as it doesn't fall in something or has anything on it.

Only if it falls in my house. And on the kitchen floor, since it tends to be usually clean.

Never. People walk on that floor and you never know what they have walked on before that.

Unless it falls into something that will ruin it's taste or texture, I have no problem with eating things off the floor. It is just as "dirty" as the hand you are touching it with. I really don't get people's obsession with "dirt." The only things that are truly "dirty" are things that contain harmful bacteria or are poisonous... like feces or gasoline.

Sometimes. Only on tile or vinyl though, never off carpet.

5 second rule if it's a hot dog or something, if it's a potatoship or something like that I'll just leave it there.

It depends on the food more than anything, if it's a pretzel sure. If it's a french fry no way.

I purposely drop food on my floor to eat it. Mostly because there is a 2 inch layer of BBQ on the floor, and it makes everything taste better!

Mostly not. But if the food is in short supply and deadly delicious and falls on a clean surface, I will just cut off the part that touched the ground.

If it's been on the floor for less than five seconds, it's fine to eat.

I agree completely. It all depends on the texture of the food for me. If it's something dry like a potato chip or a pretzel, no problem. If it's something wetish like a piece of apple or maybe mac'n cheese, hell no. It's all about how much better it will stick to the surface of whatever I'm eating.

Well, they busted the "Five Second Rule" on MythBusters (time has no effect on how much bacteria gathers on food from the floor), but what I really pulled from that episode was that food which has been on the floor for 20 seconds is no different from food which has been on the floor for 3 seconds, so I'm okay with either.

If it falls on a floor that looks clean, like the kitchen floor, yeah I guess, if I really want it. If it falls on like, the sidewalk, no. :P Whenever my dad lights a cigarette, then we decide to go into a store, he puts it on the ground outside the door, still burning, then continues to smoke it when we leave. :P

Depends on the food and the condition of the floor.
