I think it's a waste of time ... if you need to alter yourself in order to have a good time, you probably need to re-examine your life. There's no good reason.
No I don't I consider alcohol to be somwhat of a poison. It's immature to me and the fact that you would need to remove IQ to enjoy yourself is not my kind of thing. Try going to a huge party or something and you be the only one sober, it's an eye opener in terms of how people act when they are drunk. Also considering what damage alcohol has done to countless lives I'd rather see it gone than here.Gamingcucumber
I agree. Ask my broken rock band drum set. but seriously i think the world would have a lot less problems. but i choose to do it anyway.
And as long as you are not stupid enough to do **** like get to drunk and drink and drive or really abuse it, Then i think it is okay.
But cant argue with your logic.
No one said you have to drink to have a good time. You don't have to play video games...I think it's a waste of time. If you need to sit and vegetate to have a good time, you probably need to re-examine your life. There, I can use your logic.I think it's a waste of time ... if you need to alter yourself in order to have a good time, you probably need to re-examine your life. There's no good reason.

[QUOTE="Shad0ki11"]Precisely. I don't understand it either. Because they're stupid people. Sure, talk about how great last night was but don't be like: "OMG WE IS DRANK TEH ALCCOHOLLZ LOOOL WE IS AWEZUM" like nearly all teens do. Don't let stupid people jade your opinion on drinking.I don't understand why people, especially kids, drink and get drunk so often then talk about it the next day as if it were something to be proud of. I think it's stupid.

It's not logic so much as it is a statement ... I didn't give any evidence or examples.
I just believe that people benefit the most when they find happiness on their own without the use of external things (video games, television, for example). This is especially true in my view toward alcohol, drugs, etc. ... they are additives that alter the way you think and behave and take you away from your true self and the purity of your independent happiness. When I said "need to drink," I didn't mean to imply that everyone who drinks absolutely needs alcohol to be happy, just that they use it and believe they benefit from doing so. We rely on a lot of things to bring us temporary joy, and the more we can do without, I believe, the better off we are. Avoiding alcohol and drugs just seems like the easiest first step in becoming independently happy. :)

It's mostly the movie or teen kid shows fault. They think drinking is cool for partying :P.
It's ok from time to time but I don't deal with it very well the day after. I ALWAYS feel like s**t for at least a day afterwards and sometimes I don't think it's worth it.
Not anymore, when I was younger maybe. Now I get hang overs much easily and almost always make a complete idiot of myself, which makes me feel twice as bad in the morning. Just not worth it.
Nonsense, that means you haven't drank enough!I enjoy it thoroughly. I don't act stupid or anything, I get really happy and just have a great time, i maintain my motor and speech skills no matter how much i drink. I don't black out either.

A little bit isn't so bad...though i hate the excuse "oh i was drunk so i can't be held responsible for what i did". Alot of people i knew in high school liked to use that and its complete bs. You consciously made the choice knowing you very well could do something stupid so you are very responsible. And the people that drink till they throw up i can't see a point in that...you aren't driving away your problems you're making them way more complicated...
I've never got drunk. I drink because I enjoy alcoholic beverages; I don't drink with the intention of becoming inebriated.

lol i drink plenty, it takes A LOT for me to black out. I usually end up passing out instead of staying up and not remembering what i did.

I don't get why people enjoy getting drunk so much. Isn't it alot better to just be yourself and have fun rather than to use alcohol to make yourself more lively?

ah yes...the "you shouldnt need alcohol" argument. How I hate it.
First of all, alcohol is for celebrating. At least when I use it in large quantities. I only get drunk when, for example, a friend comes into town...the end of the workweek rolls around...stuff like that.
Now, as for using alcohol for having a good time, I dont see the big deal.
You need a movie theatre to have a good time
You need a nice meal to have a good time
You need a computer to have a good time
And you need alcohol to have a good time.
Those are just a few examples of how good times are had, and all require something material. The only difference is that alcohol also makes you feel good in addition to having a social benefit. I daresay that makes alcohol better in most cases.
Alcohol is great, alcohol is fun. As with most things, it comes down to moderation...cliche, I know, but true.
For thousands of years alcohol has been praisedfor its social effects. The ancients Germans said beer had divine properties, yet also warned against overconsumption.
It is only in the relatively young country of America where alcohol is demonized beyond what it can actually do. As a professional brewer, it disgusts me and constantly hampers both my work and what I see as my life's goal to bring liquid joy to the masses.
I enjoy a nice buzz. I will get flat out drunk every now and then, but I always regret it the next morning, especially if I don't get enough sleep.
