This! Dear Europeans, please don't judge our beer by the mass-produced stuff from Budweiser et al. Sure, a lot of people do drink that stuff. But come on, we're in the midst of a craft-beer renaissance here! Next time you're in the states, look up Dogfish Head, Rogue, Stone, Sierra Nevada, Brooklyn Brewery, I could go on and on.Sam Adams has at least a dozen amazing and creative brews if you can find them... please come over and try them, I really hate to think that our reputation is based on the tasteless fizzwater in this commercial.

Yes it is aimed at me as a European but, by having the word European in the title it negates the need to put YOU. My point is, it could be interpreted in the same way someone of Ethnic origin might interpret the phrase "YOU people".

As for the original question, no I don't find the ad offensive, just the idea we might drink low alcohol swill water that, from the comments, "YOU" Americans won't drink either.

Seriously, man, where do you live because chances are you have at least a handful of awesome craft or microbrews, or brewpubs, or just pubs, within an hour of where you live.

California has one of the greatest beer cultures in the world, as does Oregon and Colorado. Your "imported" beer? Problably made in Canada or, at best, made seperately to suit American tastes (much like Coke is different in every country) and shipped across the world, taking its sweetass time. During that time, it is exposed to light, heat fluctuations, and shock from being moved around.

So yea, Miller does taste like piss. So does Bud and Coors. But those are just three macrobreweries towering over the literally THOUSANDS of aweosme, successful, and diverse micro and craft breweries in the states.

Fresh, local and/or regional beer of acceptable quality will beat an imported beer 9/10 times simply by the fact it is fresh.

In Britain and Germany, for example, a lot of older breweries are either being bought up and shut down, or going out of business. The younger generation is switching to Coors and Bud, while classic styles of beer are phasing out. Even in Belgium the traditional Lambic breweries are having a tough time. Many of these countries have even lobbied to create government acts to save "historic" breweries.
