The book I'm reading right now is The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie (The actor that plays House). So far it is my favorite for the past several months.

I forgot this......

I do read voluntarily, I love WWII books and my favorites are Band of Brothers, Flags of our fathers ( I did not read these because they were movies or mini-series'), as well as the LOTR series and shooter.

Authors in order:

Steaphen E. Ambrose

James Bradley

J.R.R. Tolkein

Jack Caughlin : )

forgot about The Children of Hurin, I love the book it just slipped my mind, and the silmaarillion is really good too although it takes a couple of reads to understand fully and apreciate what a work of art it is.

Yes, I have a few books I like equally:

HP Lovecraft collections, "Rainbow Six", and "Cardinal of the Kremlin" are ones that come to mind.

I was reading "The Roadside Picnic" in .pdf format, but reading from the computer screen tires my eyes out (its the book that inspired STALKER. Orignial is in Russian and its really hard to find english copies...and expensive). I'm trying to decide whether I should give "The Witcher" a go or if I should buy another HP Lovecraft collection (book with a number of his stories).

You read some of the Rainbow Six books? How? It's like having your eyes torn out slowly....I just don't see how that's possible.

I read whenever I have the time . . . and right now I do. I'm halfway through Absolute Friends and just purchased a couple novels by Orson Scott Card and Terry Pratchett, respectively. I go for the light entertainment most of the time.

I always meant to read The Dark Tower...just never got around to it. IT seemed way to unemotional in the first few pages...so I left it.

Yes. I just got a new book at Barnes and Nobles today now that someone mentions it (not very often do you hear about reading here :P). My favorite book is The Bellmaker by Brian Jaques. I got it in the fifth grade, I'm in the 11th now, and it still is just an amazing book. It's a thrilling fantasy novel.

If I read (voluntarily) I probably wouldn't have time for videogames... How do you guys balance it? Do you read more than play or do you read less than you play?

Plus I hate reading...

If you left IT after a few pages (which doesn't make a ton of sense, how do you judge an 1100 page book on the first chapter or so...) i doubt you'll be able to get into the Dark Tower, the first book starts out pretty slow.

I just finished reading Stephen Colbert's I am America (and so can you)SAURON221

I got the book for Christmas although i haven't read much of it yet, i have enjoyed what i have read.

I have these feelings sometimes..I just know when a book isn't for me. I like deep characters...Anne Rice ****..the Dark Tower books don't seem like the type...if that makes sense....

Of course. How else do you think I would have gained a large vocabulary and proper and sophisticated grammar structure?

I am currently reading the novelette A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, the novel that Stanley Kubrick made into the film of the same name. I am absolutely loving the novel, it is a superb piece of writing most likely due to Burgess's invented "language" of Nadsat. I love the film and love the novel even more... and I have not even made it past chapter four.

Same here, though that can vary depending on text size. I also do not like reading books that are not in some sort of series. I hate reading an AMAZING book only to find out that it's the only one that the author wrote dealing with whatever the book discussed. It burns me up inside .

I once literally cried because there was no continuation to a certain book that I finished reading....it was hard coping with it...more so because the ending was so sad.
