The book is absolutely brilliant. If you loved the movies, you'll love the book.
I started reading War & Peace... but the first 200 pages are just a bunch of aristocrats talking about the pointless and irrelevant social issues of 19th century Russia . It doesn't get the least bit interesting until the "war" part- which is about 200 pages in.
I'm a huge fan of anything Dostoevsky, Crime and Punishment, Brothers Karamazov, Notes From Underground, Demons... excellent material.
No, I usually read with a gun to my head...:P
The last thing I read was Harry Potter...the last one. Finished in like five days.
Just finishedreading the ultramarines omnibus, the 6th legacy of the force book and am now waiting on my mmazon order of the lasts gaunts ghosts.
What can I say, I like 40K and star wars...
Sometimes.I finished Brave New World a few weeks agovoluntarily, and it's pretty good.I probably should read on my own more often. That should be one of my New Year's Resolutions.Hm...
I read those!!!!!!! or more like the first two. It was a long time ago when i was little. I didnt like the second one so much but i LOVED the 1st one.Currently Reading through the Chronicles Trilogy
Rifkin-
I do when I have time.
Also, does anybody just hate the books, that your school gives you?
Quadrifoglio
Usually. Some have been good, but a vast majority of the so-called "classics" I've been forced to read have been horrific. The Scarlet Letter brought me so much pain.

No. I only ever read when I have a gun to my head. :|eo12601Well, do you have a gun to your head often, and do you always read when a gun is to your head, or is that not always the case?
Every once inawhile. :)
I read I am Legend a LOOOOOONG time ago, way before the movie was getting around.
That was the last book though.
Lol yeah. Right now I am reading Starship Troopers again. Love this book. My next book is Do androids dream of electric sheep followed by Stranger in a strange land, Fahrenheit 451 and maybe Dune. I might check out the A song of ice and fire series soon because I heard some good stuff about them. EndersAres
Don't read farenheight 451, it- in my opinion was a bad book, it was very slow paced and in order to enjoy it you have to not mind about the incredably slow pace of the book and understand what everything means. Don't get me wrong I like to think about the stuff I'm reading, to a certaint extent and this is far beyond that extent. So my recomendation is not to read that book, but you might have a different sense of a good book.
Right now im reading The Children of Hurin by j.R.R.Tolkein..its a really HEAVY book..
My favorite books are Memoirs of a geisha -about the life of a geisha in japan
and SHOGUN.-a pirate/captain ends up in japan in the 1600's and gets caught between priests and samurais and civil war and gold..amazing

Shogun is one of the greatest literary works written, although Clavelle is hardly the greatest author. Still, one of my favorite books.

Normally I'd like to come up with some kind of witty response to a post like that, but considering I spent 10-12 doing statistics that I put off till the last minute, midnight going downstairs watching the ball drop, downing a glass of champagne, and the spending another 2 hours on statistics before, god knows why, dropping in here before I go to bed, I'm sorry to say that I am all out of teh funneh. :(
*drops dead of exhaustion*
I'm currently reading The Dead Zone by Stephen King. My favorite book is Ender's Game by Orson Scott Cardkiller_is_me
I got that book for Christmas! :P I actually don't plan on reading it until I beat Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
Anyway, yeah, I read on my own occasionally. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is my favorite book of all time.
