In Yakuza 5, when you hunt, you get a message that says the animal gave its life for you to eat. Does that make you feel guilty, OT?
Hell no and why should anyone? Animals hunt to survive and we humans are no different than the wild animals who do the same shit we humans do. But however, killing animals for sports isn't something I'll never do, for hunting to survive, I have no problem of killing an animal to eat for my survival.
If animals didn't want to be eaten, why did they decide to be so delicious?
In all seriousness, while I don't feel any guilt, I'm very much open to moving to any number of meat substitutes currently in development. They use a fraction of the land and resources to produce the same amount of edible biomass, so it's just a logical solution for what's to come.
Sometimes. I was a vegetarian for 10+ years. Sometimes I get the urge to become one again. Yet, I think I have it in me to go full cannibal in some kind of famine, if I have to.
No, it doesn't bother me. In the Bible, God gave the Israelites quails to eat when they were grumbling and He also permitted the Levite priests to eat some of the animal meat that was sacrificed. I believe that some are meant to eat and some are meant to be eaten.
I have killed thousands, upon thousands of digital people in my gaming life. I'm suppose to feel guilty about killing digital animals? Hell no! I'll kill a deer with a rocket launcher if you give me the chance. I find the hunting in RDR2 to be quite relaxing, honestly.
Pretty sure those cows would eat me if they had the chance.
I thought cows eat grass? lol.
No because meat is like the only source of energy that doesn't make me feel like crap.
All these processed foods, high carbs junk food, and sugar that is often seen in America makes me feel like crap. Even the vegan options are too much for me sometimes because it's all processed crap.

same. now if a animal is attack my animals. sure i will kill it. if it not scary away. which then i would ask anyone if they want the animal that was shot.
or a sickly animal. not like a broken leg. but a desise one.
No, but I don’t like to hunt.
Once shot a chucker going on a hunt with my brother when I was younger. I hit it with a shotgun and (what I assume was) its mate ran back to its side as it struggled to flee, injured. It was terrible to witness and I felt awful, still do, though I had to eat it to justify to myself what I’d done.
So I’m a bit of a hypocrite I guess in eating meat. I’ll never hunt an animal again, but I don’t necessarily others doing it as I enjoy eating meat too much. I think anyone who eats meat should go hunting to really get a first-hand idea of what they are supporting.
After boiling live prawns and gutting a fish a couple of years ago, I have significantly reduced my consumption of meat.
The experience was really quite horrific for me especially killing the fish which was quite big and strong.
I think if we all had to slaughter our own meat, we would eat far less of it.
I think being bred in captivity to die sucks. Maybe this is weird but I sort of feel like responsible hunting is potentially more humane than a lot of the commercial meat industry.

This^ Nobody wants to see how the sausage is made. I reckon we'd still eat fish and meat, just maybe be more respectful for the source.
Not really. I have incorporated vegan food into my diet though.
I replace milk with Almond/Soy/Oat milk instead, for example.
Sometimes when I get bored of eating chicken, beef and pork, I'll have a falafel.

Lmao, blame the people who invented the spices bro. Anywho, I wonder what kind of meat substitute you are referring to? Probably a frog's meat or lizard meat?
Yeah, I do sometimes. Not so much that I'm going to become a vegetarian, but I recognize that I am part of killing something that was brought into the world for the sole purpose of being eaten by me and never had any say in it or way out of its ultimate fate, and that doesn't feel great.
Regardless of whether people feel guilty about eating meat though, I think most people, if given the choice between two of the exact same dish with the only difference being one resulted in an animal's death and the other did not, that they would pick the one that didn't kill an animal.
I don't feel bad about eating meat. I do feel bad for how many animals are raised.
I try to buy pasture-raised animals that are humanely slaughtered. Driving down I-5 in California you pass this cattle ranch and it smells so bad and the steers are all packed in there so tight, it's really depressing.
Don't really care too much about chickens, which is the bulk of my animal protein intake, they're relatively easy to raise on a pasture, feed well, and the slaughtering of chickens is fairly humane.
Beef and pork is trickier as it tends to get expensive if you want pasture-raised, grass-fed stuff as it is also higher quality.
I work with meat daily,so I don’t really feel guilty about it. I believe humans can’t just eat veggies and fruit all the time,I know there’s more than f&v to eat, but certain animals I believe are meant to slaughter, cooked and consumed. Just my thoughts.
I don’t feel guilty for it but I do think a lot of people eat way more meat than necessary, media has hyped it up to be a manly quality to eat meat all the time and avoid vegetables, I always try to fill up on veggies and eat just enough meat for my protein target to build and maintain muscle while keeping calories low. I do think everyone should experience how animals are processed for meat as that would definitely change a lot of people’s eating habits and careless attitude to the needless mass consumption of animals.

Yeah, it's all about balance. I've started doing my bit by eating black pudding. I read the other day that about 80% of the world is iron deficient. It's the most prevalent nutritional deficiency on Earth, apparently. No wonder people have cravings for fillets all the time when we discard all the offal and blood out of "respect" (disgust).
I used to think killing an animal is f'ed by the way regulations would have it today. Someone I know proposed that they should give them poison that kills them peacefully within an hour and then the person that administered it, should just put one of their hands on the animal's head, and just wait there until it dies.
I wouldn't feel bad about eating meat that much - if they killed it like that nonetheless.
It doesn't make me feel guilty, it makes me appreciate the gravitas of the sacrifice required to eat. I mean, you have to kill or harm plants to eat those, too.
I think it's very healthy that we have that appreciation. Lacking it leads to indiscriminate stupidity.
