most of it is terrible. but there are some good ones.blooddemon666
Most of it? Do you see that many or do you just read synopsis, reviews or recommendations and move on like I do?
Because that seems the most effective way to tell when an anime sucks. A brief glance, if it can't hold your attention than it will probably suck.
I dislike anime as a form of animation, mostly due to its process and historical budget allocations. That is, where big explosions get twenty times as many frames of animation as an important character moment. Where voices are recorded after the animation is complete. Where characters come secondary to plot.
Where backgrounds flash and noses bleed in lieu of popping a boner.
That's not to say I don't enjoy some anime (Cowboy Bebop is the only 'anime' I've enjoyed, as I don't consider Miyazaki's Herge-like movies to be the same thing), but my first reaction when I hear the word is to wrinkle up my nose and wander off in the other direction. Part of it is that the general audience for anime is scary as hell, too. And I'm not even getting into the tentacle area.
Also watching the Japanese version over the American version is also stupid if you don't speak Japanese and find the it to sound better in Japanese because you wish you were Japanese.zaku101They often change the meanings of sentences. And I always have closed captioning on anyway.
Maybe some people like to read rather than listen to poorly chosen voice actors.
Anime is a ok and good thing to watch. However to act out anime in real life and to dress up like characters from the anime is just completely retarded in my eyes. Also watching the Japanese version over the American version is also stupid if you don't speak Japanese and find the it to sound better in Japanese because you wish you were Japanese.zaku101
Actually, I watch Japanese with subs because it's much more difficult to spot bad voice-acting when it's in a language I don't understand. And English dubs usually have a lot of bad voice acting. There's no way I'd want to be Japanese.

If they're poorly picked VAs in Japanese, how would I know anyway?
Its just for sad blokes seeing cartoonie preteen schoolgirls being raped up the wrong un ...:( freddy457Anime isn't about rape... :?

Having closed captioning on is no better than having English voice actors. Even the captions have mixed messages than what the individual is really trying to say. Also the captions are pretty much what the English voice actor would be saying.

I like how there's a thread every week exactly like this.
No, I do not hate anime. I hate Dragonball Z, but I love Cowboy Bebop and Castle in the Sky. I love Ghost in the Shell. I kinda like Bleach. I hate Pokemon. (but once was obsessed with it:oops: )
I do not hate anime. I hate most anime just as I hate most movies. But the good stuff makes it worth the bad stuff.

Having watched Negima! in english dub with subs, I can say that's not the case. There's a particular scene with my fave character, Nodoka, and in the dub she answers a question "Yes, he is sorta" but the sub says "No, he's not like that". English voice dubs are very carefully done sos that the voices match the lip syncing as best possible, while keeping the timing right and getting the message across. It's very difficult which is why not a lot of dubs are done...I'm assuming.
For an example of bad voice dubbing watch one of the original Dragonball Z movies. I dunno which one, I don't like DBZ, but it was hella funny to watch.
I am just saying there is not point in watching it in *** if the subtitles are pretty much what the English voice acters would be saying. If you like hearing funny words that's cool I don't really care.
zaku101
Actually, that's not true. For instance, just look at Naruto (if you can still make yourself do such a thing). In the Japanese subs you won't be reading 'Believe it!' every five seconds. Official dubs sometimes censor things or dumb things down because American kids would turn into blood-thirsty serial killers if they saw blood or listened to people who didn't use annoying catch-phrases all the time. And just the hint of a mature conversation would raise teen pregnancies by the 100%'s.
Its for sad pathetic paedo types to get off on,........go proper CP sites an be beasts there !!
Admit It an move on ...lol hentai an any cartoonie school girl thing its just for paedos in training/fueling the Beast passions .. ..lol
freddy457
He didn't say hentai, he said do you hate anime.

Ugh, I stopped watching the anime of Naruto after the first few episodes because of "believe it". I stopped reading the manga because it was doing the annoying DBZ routine (evil arrives, gets beaten, trains, wins, new villain).
Yes or No. Simple as that.darkSIDEechoes
hah! you contradict yourself! it is not as simple as yes or no because you have the option of "neither"!
:P
I likes it.
An on a footnote ..Even Japan LEA is stepping down on this vile trade ,
The Local Enforcement Authorities are raiding an busting the schoolgirl/boy an sleazy type film an mags , Japan is stopping these faux kiddie pron.
freddy457
You have a link? Also if memory serves, it's known as Lolicon.
You say it's only yes or No, but still there is a Neither answer? :? Was it someone who demanded it?
And no, i don't hate it. I quite like, but i do recognise it's hard to find any anime with suits my kind of likes.

Okay, so they're cracking down on kiddie hentai. I have no problem with that.
