Do you hate anime? Rnd 3.

I love some anime and hate some anime.

It just depends. I prefer the intellectual anime over the action-packed anime.

I enjoy quite a bit of anime..I dislike certain genres, though. I generally hate anything ecchi, and "Comedy" anime don't do much for me, with a couple exceptions. Not a big mecha fan, either.

Saying that you outright "hate" anime comes off as a bit ignorant, though, when you consider the huge variety of genres it encompasses (the majority of which such people are, again, ignorant of.) Basing your liking of anime on what you've seen popularized in North America would be a bit like saying you hate all television programming, while only having access to one channel.

Most of it? Do you see that many or do you just read synopsis, reviews or recommendations and move on like I do?

Because that seems the most effective way to tell when an anime sucks. A brief glance, if it can't hold your attention than it will probably suck.

I've essentially narrowed it down to dislike of anime that last more than one season.

I hate stories that are long and drawn out.

Anime is overused in my opinion. Some of it can be cool, but the majority of them overuse rediculous emoting, hairstyles, and insanely bizarre storylines.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the fanbase gives us some great laughs because trying to imitate anime in real life will make you look dumb 99% of time.

When subbed by a skilled translator, and seen in high resolutions...Anime is a book and movie combined...it's an art form like no other.

And yet most of them are childish and only appeal to the Japanese population.

I don't hate it, but I only watch it if that's what happens to be on tv.

I don't consider anime a cartoon. Cartoons are drawn better and have good animation unlike anime. And most of the cartoons on cartoon network are made for older teenagers. Try watching the grim adventures of Billy and Mandy or Chowder.

Also watching the Japanese version over the American version is also stupid if you don't speak Japanese and find the it to sound better in Japanese because you wish you were Japanese.zaku101

i loved the older ones....like trigun, cowboy bebop...and even movies like akira and princess mononoke.......but i haven't seen any great anime in a long time...bluewrxman

Have you seen Spirited Away? That's an excellent movie made by studio ghibli (who made princess mononoke). Both movies were awesome.. just thinking about it makes me emotional. xD

Anyways I do like anime, but not the overly stylized ones.. (Naruto is cool.)

cartoons are animation, I'm fairly confident anime is a cartoon. Doesn't matter what age group the content is geared towards.

anime is supposed to mean just animation of any kind. Anime is now just used as a term to refer to Japanese animation, or sometimes lesser known as Japanimation.

The eyes show all the emotion though, it shows alot more slight and hidden emotions than western cartoons

yes, because all cartoons are for children, you sound just like those people who think games are only played by children
