You know, cards, coins, stamps, sea shells, shot glasses, body parts, etc.

Personally, I don't collect anything anymore. I used to collect Marvel cards and comics when I was a kid. There is something psychologically gratifying about a complete collection of something isn't there?

I have 6 pairs of headphones, so I guess that has started a bit of a collection. Other than that I collect money and the occasional bottle of red wine gets added to my mini cellar. I'm quite selective though.

Books, I guess. Got a lot of obscure old books I picked up for a few cents at my library's ongoing book sale.

Music. I've got 20 some CD's (yeah yeah, not as many as I'm sure some of you have, but I try). I think I still have my Pokemon cards somewhere too...

EDIT: forgot video games...

I have a rather large coin collection. And I definitely see it as an investment. I'll be selling it before long. All in all, its worth triple what I payed for it.

My colleague's neighbor, a Vietnam veteran, kept a grenade that did not detonate with him as a souvenir or trinket of sorts. In his later years, he kept it by the fireplace as a show-piece! Anyway, he wanted to give it to his daughter when she got married as a good luck charm of sorts. She refused the gift and actually called the bomb squad to remove the grenade from her father's house. They literally cleared out the entire neighborhood to remove the grenade.

When I was a kid, I would take stickers off fruit and put them on this one section of wall on the stairwell to the basement. I still do it from time to time out of habit, esspecially if there's a sticker I don't have yet. For now, the only things I collect are Special Edition Playboy magazines, but I really don't like to collect things. I'm a bit of a neat-freak and a declutterer, like the oppositte of a packrat, so...

While I don't have too many yet, I like to collect vintage concert shirts from back in the 60's and 70's. So far I have 2 Zeppelin, 2 AC/DC, a Rolling Stones, and 2 Pink Floyd shirts.

Where do you buy them?

I buy these books from Easton Press.

The ones I'm getting are a part of a collection called the 100 Greatest Books Ever Made, and they cost about $40 dollars a piece. They're expensive as books go, but they're still cheaper than buying a video game, which I rarely buy anymore. So, instead, my video game money goes to these books.
