Yes, they are. Portugal borders Spain. The French, Spanish, and Portuguese are related but they are different ethnic groups.the french originally came from germany, the portugese and spanish are descendants of roman and spanish celt offspring, so no they are not the same. just because they border each other doesn't mean they are related eg.china and india
