I sure do. I live in America. I use the resources here. No matter it's historic, current, or future negatives, I have pride because it is my home. To be to the point, even if another country went against us and for all purposes the reasoning was "true and of virtue", i'd still fight them defending my less than "true and of virtue" home to the bitter end.

I live in the U.S. and overall I don't mind living here. I actually kind of like it. It has as many pros as it has cons. However, I wouldn't say that I have "pride." I like living here, but I'm not proud of where I happened to be born. I had no choice over it. I don't go nuts for patriotism, but I also don't shun my country. I like it here but I don't go nuts.

No, I can't say that I have "pride". I'm glad I live in America, and I like a lot of things about it, but I can't pride myself for simply being born in a certain area. I did nothing to achieve this place, why would I be proud?

I like this country but generally find myself upset and continually disappointed by the people i am forced to share it with. I imagine it's the same in any country.

I'm sure it's safe to say that most have pride and would fight for their country of origin be it they are right or wrong. Just as most would fight for their family

Interesting question. It is hard for me to answer this question since I have only been to two countries so far (U.S. and Canada). It'd be easier for me to answer this if I had more experience with other countries. I suppose if given the choice at this point, I'd go with the U.S., but I can't say whether or not my answer would remain the same if I'd been to more countries.

Yeah, I live only a couple of hours away from the Canadian border as well, so I've been there several times.

It is interesting to think about what it'd be like had you been born in a different country. Of course it seems weird since you're used to being from where you're from, but it's still interesting to consider. :)

No I don't, and I wouldn't be proud no matter what country I lived in. We are all the same species living on the same planet, I couldn't care less what arbitrary, imaginary lines governments draw on it.

Sometimes the notion of national pride seems so absurd to me. Especially on these forums, where people think it somehow makes them better than others or they feel all giddy when someone complements the nation they reside in. When you really think about it, it's just silly at times.

If my freedom was jeopardized then I would fight but I don't hold pride in a country itself.

I like for what certain parts of my country stand for and I hate other parts.

I don't hate the government I hate a lot of the people in the government.

I think having pride for being born in a certain country is stupid.

You are supposed to take pride in accomplishing things not for stuff that automatically happens without your choice.

I live in America and for all it's corruption I still think it's one of the best places to live.

I don't support a team just because they live where I live. I like the Dallas Cowboys but I live in California and I never liked Raiders.

what country do you live in?

I'm Canadian... when I was in grade school we recited the pledge of Allegiance after the national Anthem every morning followed by God Save the Queen and no-one sang it louder and with more conviction than me... don't get me wrong - I love my Country, but in the last ten years or so, I've become disappointed and disillusioned with some of the decisions that our government has made... the ephemeral veneer of pseudo-democracy and semi-transparency is lifting in places and I don't like what I'm seeing at all... things that just aren't supposed to happen here are happening and with alarming frequency... just that sort of thing...

Depends upon what one means by "pride." I am impressed with the country that I reside in, (the U.S.) glad that I live here, am grateful to all who have made it as great as it is, and will gladly do my part to better it myself. If that falls within the "pride" category, I suppose so.

i dissagree country is government exactly, im a political science major so im sorry to strongly dissagree

your local governments effect you every day in the town you live in, resulting in how you feel about your town for example

or on a larger scale do you support the war in iraq, because governemnt allowed for this country to go at war with iraq

They most certainly are NOT the same, dude. Many political science majors I've spoken to have mention the distinct difference between the nation, and the government.

Local governments may effect everyday business, but they are not by any stretch of the imagination the only thing that effects you. A tree I don't like that i drive past everyday could make me feel different about the town, or for that matter the entirety of existence. That does not make it all that exists however.

One of the specific tasks government has is to handle international diplomacy etc. Even then, it is very difficult to say whether because a government declares war upon a nation that the whole nation is actually at war. A country is a region of land. If a "country" is at war with another one, one must either assume that all members living are at war (never the case) or that just simply the government is. Long story short, unless you want to just define "country" as "government," you are very, very mistaken.

I like being English. I'm not proud of being English per se, although I feel a sense of pride when we do something well. Alas that won't be in the world cup this time I feel. Incidentally it's the likes of the world cup and the Olympics that I find brings out the greatest patriotism in people – it's the one time where the country feels unified. After the world cup we'll all be back to belittling each other and complaining about immigrants, chavs and the weather.

Don't mix up country and government. They're not one and the same.

i dissagree country is government exactly, im a political science major so im sorry to strongly dissagree

your local governments effect you every day in the town you live in, resulting in how you feel about your town for example

or on a larger scale do you support the war in iraq, because governemnt allowed for this country to go at war with iraq

Long story short, unless you want to just define "country" as "government," you are very, very mistaken.

governemnt effects every day life

let me ask you this then

if america was run by a dictatorship would it effect your pride in your country, would it effect your life, DUHHDUMM yes it would. why do you think people left europe and came to america. governemnt it a part of your country! i work with people who lived in cuba and left because of fidel castro and his policys and have no pride in their country
