My dad is quite intelligent, especially in maths and history, though completely clueless when it comes to things like computers and new technologies, he is also a bit of a conspiracy theorist/paranoid so I'm glad he doesn't know how to use the internet, otherwise he'd probably be walking around with an aluminium foil hat. :P

My mum was also quite intelligent and very wise.

I don't think so. My dad's a bit forgetful with day to day things, but he's one of the smartest dudes I know and has I believe 4 degrees. That's more than I'll ever have so props to that.

I think a better question would have been "Do your parents lack common sense?". A lot of people just say "no my parents went to this and that university", which proves that they are not stupid, but even really smart people lack common sense.

My parents aren't stupid. My dad joined the army at 17 and has got a ton of qualifications because of that. Last year, he finished his Open University course in chemistry and has worked in telecommunications since he left the army (so for 12 years or so now). He does lack common sense in some areas because he used to work for Sky, but decided that it would be a good idea to get a Sky digibox AFTER he had left the company when for a couple of years, we could have been enjoying Sky tv on the cheap. He also didn't get an internet connection until 2002 or so and didn't upgrade from 56k until recently. On top of this, he worked for companies that provided connections (so he could have got a cheaper employee rate) however decided to opt for a different ISP. And my dad is supposed to be tight with his money (from what my mum used to say).

My mum is worldy wise I guess and very savvy. Up to now I can't think of anything she has done that is dumb or lacking in common sense.
