Do you have this problem at your high school?

Area majority of the guys at your school homophobes? A majority of the guys at my school feel the need to end every sentence with "no homo".

And it seems whenever there isa guythat they dont know or like, he is instantly marked as "gay".

I have seen this alot everywhere and was wondering if anyone else was seeing any of the same stuff?

But you are right some guys use gay and other associated terms to say something is stupid, while others do bash.

I see that a lot too, it makes me sad. I got into an argument with a guy in a class once when we had a LGBT speaker come in, and he expressed his homophobia. Strange thing is, he hugs and butt-slaps all of his straight male friends no problem, not a 'no-homo' ever to be heard. But as soon as an actual homosexual is in the picture, he says he can't shower/pee in the same room as them for fear they'll stare at his junk. I ripped him a new one for that, it's absolutely unacceptable to have that kind of double standard.XilePrincess

Reminds me of something I saw on face book maybe a month ago. A dude I knew change his profile pic to a pokemon because he joined a group, well a typical high school jock went to his profile and called him a f*****.

Truth be told, I'm thinking a lot of people truly had no idea how they would react if and when they do come into contact with someone who is LGBT

I just hope people will become more accepting of the LGBT community, they are really no more or less abnormal than heterosexuals imo

People have the right to dislike whatever they want to dislike.

Somewhat but not as bad. Gay people are accepted.

It wasn't that bad at my high school, but damn were people homophobic when it came up.

I don't remember hearing the phrase "No Homo back when i was in high school. But yeah most were pretty homophobic, I do live in the south afterall (no offense to any southerners).

Well mainly if somebody that doesn't like something about you they call you gay and there are no gays as well

This is a huge problem at my school. My girlfriend is bisexual and she has to deal with bashing every day.

no, when I was in high school that was not a problem. Granted, I graduated in '02 and I know things can change in eight years (Jesus, has it been that long...) but still, no one was a downright homophobe.

I mean, people used phrases like "thats gay or "dont be a *f word* " but still, no one that I knew was a downright homophobe.

of course, going to a high school just outside San Francsico with a GLBT club problably had an impact on tolerance.

You've never heard the saying "Nothing is gay if you call "no homo it's just a joke, and everyone can step off their pedestal here, I can guarantee you, 90% of users here have used the word gay in a negative connotation, but will act like it's pathetic and they never have. I'm only speaking the truth.

Not really. My school actually acts very gay towards each other. More like a friendship thing though, not like an actual "I want to have sex with you thing". KHAndAnime
