Do you know one of those guys who just wont stop making stuff up?

One of my friends is this kind of guy...he always makes stuff up and he expects everyone to believe him without questioning...I guess he keeps doing it because since no one tells him that they dont believe him (if you say taht, he gets mad and goes on rampage and its not the kind of guy you want to see angry)

he says stuff like internet and xbox live is free in latinamerica because microsoft doesnt know that people there have computers so they dont charge them (thats what he said to me in 8th grade, needless to say I nver believed him)

the other day he was comparing scars with some guy and he had this little bruise in his ankle and he said it was a bullet wound, a missed bulled that hit him during a robbery.

he said he shot a lady by accident once because he was hanging with a friend "mugging people"

and recently he said that he downloaded an update for his 9400 gt which said that "with this update, you will be able to play at higher resolutions, and max the wizard 3!" I asked what the hell was the wizard 3 and he told me "that game you reccomended me!" and I said "the witcher 2..." and he was like "oh yeah yeah right that one!"

then he said he also got an update for his CPU which improves the performance for like 50% :lol:

so you know any guys like this?

I know one of my friend is borderline psycho almost. Lies about his wealth, and stuff alike. He claims to own a house in France, and have drive an bmw x5 (his claim color of the vehicle changes everytime I ask periodically o.o) yet he lives in a beatup sub-300k$ house while driving a mid 90s civic. He would say he is busy tomorrow and then comes the next day he calls if he wants hangout... Yip, imma just keep it as that. Also we are all young adults, yet he lies whether he think is funny, or he is crazy.. I think is the latter.

Yup. Although he's mostly my friend's friend.

He just makes up a rediculous amount of things... even if his ego doesn't gain anything from it. Like, the last thing I heard him say was this:

Basically, he was looking through my friend's (NEW) netbook, seeing what was wrong with it. From what I could tell, he was looking in the System 32 folder. He told my friend that some of the files in System 32 were from like 2005, which meant that the netbook was NOT new, and had been recycled countless types, and sold as "new" to people, to make more profit.

That's just stupid. I checked my own computer's System 32 folder (just to be sure) and found that the oldest files in there were from 2001, and my computer was certainly NOT being sold around when I was 12 years old. That just means the program was created back then. I'd prove him wrong, but he would just amke up another lie to go around it.

My brother knew a friend like that. We called him suds because he would foam at the mouth. He used to say that bullets didn't work on him.

Wow, that sounds so much like my friend.

He says he hacked his pc to get double the performance it should, and that he doesnt need virus protection at all because he is his own virus protection.

He is the best player at online game and if he dies or loose its either lag or he pc is messing up, even tho its suppose to be preforming at 200% or something.

Three guys tried to jump him while he was walking down the street and he sent them all to the hospital.

He doesnt have to pay for Xbox live because MS gave it too him for free permanently for free for some reason.

The was an isolated tornado at walmart and he almost died, but it did no damage to anywhere.

there was this kid that went to the same school as me, also happened to work at the same place i did, and everyone knew him as someone who was always making crap up. he was into cars and stuff and he said that he had a porche (or some other nice car like that) but he had to keep it in his garage because his sponsor wouldn't let him just take it out. after he quit the job that was at the same place i worked, he came in later and said he was working on ferrari's and stuff... yeah right. he also said the government kept calling him up trying to get him to be a splinter cell :lol: oh and he also said he wrote 2 symphonies (maybe not symphony by some piece of music) and that the high school that we went to, the marching bad was going to be playing them.

They're doing it for attention...and no.

Yeah, I know A LOT of people who do it. Never really understood why they did it.

One in middle school, he wasn't so much "boasting" but pretty much feeding me misinformation when we talked about movies and games. I knew he was flat out wrong, usually, but I think he was doing it to impress me.

In high school, my group of friends were pretty grounded. We broke the spirits of those we hung around with so everyone didn't need to prove anything :P.

Yeah, I know people like that. The ones that say they were in the military are especally funny.

Yeah, there are many people like that. I'd love to prove them wrong but then they would either:

Look like an ass in front of other people.

Create a new lie to back up his old one.

I don't get why they do it, do they want to impress people or what?

I know a guy in the Army who makes up fantastically unbelievable stories. I don't know what his problem is. A.) He makes up ridiculous stories when he already has interesting stories that are true, and B.) He tells his ridiculous stories to people (like myself) who have sufficient experience in that area to tell he's making s*** up. I dunno why he doesn't just save his bogus stories for chicks in bars, or other people who are likely to believe anything.

Half the people in OT (although the number is probably greater than 50%) :P

My intent was to state that every single pastor I've ever known basically pontificates, and everyone is expected to just accept what they say on the basis of their position. I simply found that strikingly similar to the behavior TC was describing.
