I used to be friends with a kid years ago who claimed to have a really rich uncle in Val d'Or, Quebec. He said that his uncle had a huge mansion and was rich because "Val d'Or meant the land of gold in French". His uncle also bought him a bunch of army men action figures and my friend claimed that they were insanely rare and expensive. He also bragged about how his father was a cop, when really, his father was a loser who had to work three jobs just to support the family. He was a mall cop, a nighttime security guard (accordingto my friend)at an airport and a judo teacher.

The kid was just always bragging about the stuff he had. He tried to compare his dad's Impala with an Aston Martin(LOL). He also bragged about the size of his backyard and said that because he had the biggest backyard out of our whole group of friends, his house was the biggest. In reality, he lived in a cheap townhouse and his living room, kitchen, and entrance hallway combined is the same size as half of my first period classroom. He bragged about his toy AK-47, claiming that it was the exact replica of the real gun. He also bragged about how he had the best water guns, listened to the best music...even though I was way better off than him. He didn't even have his own computer...

Me and him eventually had a huge fight one summer and never spoke to eachother ever again.

I did in 6th form college, and I believed the things she said for ages until another of our friends told me. Like we learnt about this train crash in psychology and she said her uncle was on that train and other stuff that was doubtful but believable. I realised that she always had to add someone to a conversation, even if it meant making something up, just to be included. We all stopped being friends with her and I haven't spoke to her since :)

[QUOTE="magicalclick"]"he said he shot a lady by accident once because he was hanging with a friend "mugging people"" If you are not lying, I think I need more info and report him to police. I don't care he is lying or not, but, I am not going to take any chance. So, if you have evidence, like a recording of him saying that by asking to repeat that statement again. You can either hand the recording to police yourself or share it online and I will report it to police for you.

he was obviously lying, and dont worry we dont live in the US, also no I dont have a recording, but it would have been hillarious to show it to his kids in 10 years or something

That dude has problems. Probably has very low self-esteem to boot.British_Azimio
actually his problem is that he rides a huge egocentric cloud, he believes everyone see him as a badass and that everything he says will be believed by everyone without a question

I know a guy who is like 5'4", around 110 lbs, and claims he can bring down several guys that are bigger, and stronger then he is. He has a tendency to try wrestling moves on me to see if he can bring me down, to no avail of course. So you could say he is pretty supergoatish. Other then that he brags about his mom a lot... I don't have any idea what that's about.O_o

Yes. His name is Curtis. He used to be in my circle of friends. We all despise him now because of all the bull he talks.

I knew one guy like that. He was a friend of a friend. He was such a liar, saying he got stabbed and all that gangsta BS. He was a real small guy too. I would always call him out on his BS, like asking to see the wound. He wouldn't, I did not like him at all.

Yeah, I used to have a friend like that.

Every day he'd come up with a new bizarre thing that had happened to him once. The things that would happen were never really that far fetched, and were all things that could feasibly happen to somebody. But the sheer number of strange things that happened to him, the fact that nobody else was ever around to witness them, and that he was the most unlikely person that these things would happen to... just all made it so obvious that he was lying.

Sadly, I can't post any of his stories here that wouldn't get me modded. They weren't particularly explicit, but still too hot for OT.

EDIT: Oh yeah - and at house parties he used to pretend he was smashed, and then when he thought nobody was looking he'd pour his drinks down the sink.

I've known at least 2... One when I was younger who was a known liar, people even put the word "ljug" in front of his name which is basically "lying*name*" anyway.. This guy claimed the most outrageous things all the time. He was abit older than me and some of my friends but at the time he was still only.. maybe 13? Well, he was a patriot 'cause he had fought in world war 2. This was in the nineties. He was a nazi, a communist, a spy for the government and he had his own private helicopter that could take him anywhere in the world. He disappered a couple of years later, no idea what happened, if he just moved or whatever. Nobody really cared, sadly.

There's this other guy who's such a drama queen. Everytime he strikes up a conversation he has these incredible stories and horrible stuff always happen to him. Like when he colors his hair and sits there "covered in blood" telling everyone on msn about the horrors, or when he went to post a letter and got hunted by the police (or better yet, a swat-team) just because. Something that really makes him unbearable though is that if you've got something to tell that happened to you he acknowledges it with an "ok" to than proceed to tell an almost identical story that happened to him, but worse. What I personally dislike mostly about him though is that he presents his stupid crap like facts about various things and.. well, he's not That stupid so some people actually believe those parts so he's effectively spreading misinformation. Never to me anymore though 'cause I've always called him on his bull****. Ah, with knowledge comes the power to make people look like douchebags.

There is a worse one that really can't see the difference between fantasy and reality that makes up outrageous stupid things which almost always lead to people laughing at her but she's brain damaged so it's not really fair to compare her stories to those above, just felt like mentioning it. :3

Edit: Spelling.

Maybe when I was in third grade. You learn to not overtly lie when you're an adult...because people will call you on it. Every time.

Oh boy, one of my best friends used to be like that, its mainly an ego thing, and he's still a good mate, but man he had some totally BS stories haha, unfortunately a bit 2 explicit for GS.

If my memory was good enough I would be able to pull up some good stories but unfortunately I cannot. Everyone elses stories are bloody hilarious though haha

Yeah, I know a few. One time we were driving down the road to go get some food when a helicopter swooped in and strafed us with a minigun. Needless to say, I swerved off the road and tried to lose it in the trees... good times.

[QUOTE="Kimimaro_GBA"]I did back in high school. Practically everything he said was an unbelievable lie. Some liars stick to things that are possible and come off some-what convincing, but everything this kid said was off the wall. His exaggerations were the best though, he would lie TO me about situations I was there for. I haven't talked to him since I was a sophomore in high school though. We're Facebook buddies, but I think he joined the army or something.

I know a guy who was a lot like that. IF you told you anything you had to take it with a pinch of salt. He'd also exaggerate about things or events that I had witnessed and expected me to back him up on. like how he said something to some guy but he'd never said it. etc. he'd say stuff like 'i beat the british champion in archery' or 'last night I beat up 3 guys outside a club' and he showed me his hand which he had clearly scrapped against a brick wall as the skin looked like it had been sandpapered, so unless the guys he punched had sand paper for faces he was lying. also I asked people who there when the event occurred and they had no idea what he was talking about. genuinely he's a good guy except for the lying which is totally uneccessary imo.

the worst lies are the pointless ones- the ones that aren't even bragging and dont have meaning whatsoever.

i.e. 'When I was driving to X place the other day I drove through Y town and there was the tallest crane in the world there, my uncle worked on it.'

like WTF????

In that case I had just been near where he was talking about and I saw no cranes there whatsoever, it's not like you'd miss the tallest crane in the world. more importantly however why the tallest crane in the world would be located in a small town where the tallest building is only 3 storeys high is beyond me.

I am one of those guys. I like to make up silly, pointless, plausible things that relate to topics that come up casually in conversation. For instance, a friend at a diner orders tea, says it's kind of bubbly. I chime in with "Yeah, reminds me of that new pepsi tea. You tried that yet? The commercials are hilarious." I had a few gullible friends and got away with it all the time, but after like 5 years, they got wise.

My girlfriend who I just met last fall doesn't fall for any of it, and I've tried. Instead, she pulled one on me just the other day.
